Chapter 155 - A Blood Debt

"Zz... Hello! Can anyone hear me? Well, whatever, my name is Morgan, and I hope someone is really listening. I have a group of seven people, and we're surrounded by walkers on Viler Cruis Street in the hotel."

Morgan shook his head as he received no response from the radio. He had been trying since they got trapped in a building near the military base because there were many walkers nearby.

Kenny, who was with him, shook his head and said, "Fine, we could take out all the walkers one by one. It's the only real way to get out of here alive."

"Zz. Repeat your location!"

But upon hearing the voice coming from the radio intercom, everyone heard a series of gunshots in the distance and then fell into their thoughts. What were those gunshots they heard in the distance? If they now responded to the radio, the person must be close, and it's likely that they're where the shootout erupted.

"We're on Viler Cruis Street; are you the ones shooting?"

"Zz... It's some walkers; a team is heading to your location."

"Are you close to our position?" After brief consideration, Morgan asked hurriedly, "We are hearing a lot of gunshots; is it really safe to go out?"

"Can you hear it from that far?"

The voice on the other side of the radio paused, then after a while said, "Zz... A group of thieves attacked our convoy; we're dealing with these issues. At this point, it should be completely resolved."

Upon hearing that some problems were being resolved, Morgan thought about his analysis a moment ago and about the people from last night at the church and asked aloud, "Did you kill all the survivors?"

"Zz. Kill them all? No, I still have three alive."

Regarding that question, Dominic, who was on the other side of the radio, did not hesitate in his words, as if he knew the people on the other side of the radio could guess, so he said, "Zz... All right, this conversation is over; you can go out now!"

"Go out. Go out. What do you mean?" Morgan asked, confused after hearing this.

"Zz. You'll know when you get out; don't be afraid, friend!"

But Dominic did not answer his question; he just reminded him to go out and then turned off the radio. During this time, his job and that of his entire group in this place was to evaluate them by eye and, if they were trustworthy, send them to the military base. Those who did not show that trust would be eliminated.

Dominic learned that many were not safe at all, meaning many asked for help only to attack and rob them of their resources. Which, as evident, ended very badly for those who thought so poorly of his people.

When the people in the room heard these words, they all definitely thought badly about this situation; it could be better described as unusual.

Boom!

Just when they were stunned, there was a sudden, loud noise not far from them, which was particularly piercing in the quiet city.

"Sniper rifle!" Upon hearing the shot, Kenny knew what kind of weapon it was almost immediately. He unconsciously stepped forward and shouted, then turned his head to look in the direction of the shot.

"The shots are in that direction; someone must have been killed!"

While the rest of the people were looking for the exact point of the shot, Morgan, who had been observing the outside, immediately said something about what he saw.

In his binoculars, on the main street leading to their location, a man fell from a second floor with a hole in his chest. But immediately, a car crashed into that place, and several people ran towards the inside of that building.

Boom!

When Morgan was looking into the distance from his location, another shot was heard, and the man who was hiding behind a wall and staying undercover received a strong impact. He suddenly fell backward, holding his chest in confusion, and continued spitting blood from his mouth, soaking his chest. In a few seconds, he stopped moving.

"Damn!"

Watching this scene in shock, Morgan immediately moved away from the windows.

Immediately after, on the street not far away, two bright lights suddenly appeared, instantly illuminating the dark street. A military truck followed by several armored cars appeared slowly and, at the same time, attracted the attention of everyone around.

Boom, boom, boom!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Even at a distance, the people gathered in the building could still hear the engine noise and saw the convoy that appeared shortly after the car crash, slowing down towards the building where the people had entered.

"Shoot! Stop!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The people in the building obviously saw the military truck approaching and stopping. Everyone was aware of what was happening; one of the people in the building where those people entered fired at the armored cars.

The truck swerved left and right, trying to avoid the flying bullets as much as possible, but some bullets still hit the vehicle body, sparking dazzling sparks.

Boom!

But before the people in the building fired a few more shots, the sound of a sniper rifle rang out again in the distance and instantly pierced the head of the man, killing him in seconds.

The remaining people saw and understood that there were snipers outside, so they didn't dare to stick their heads out for fear of being shot. Each of them huddled behind the walls of the building and shuddered at the situation.

Boom, boom, boom!

Boom!

Without the obstruction of bullets, the military truck no longer dodged. The person in the driver's seat stepped on the accelerator again and drove directly toward the gate of the building's field, smashing the closed iron gate with a powerful hit.

Kenny and the others on top of the building were stunned by the scene in front of them. From the shots fired to the military truck chasing those people, everything happened so quickly that they didn't even have time to react.

"Quick! We need to get to that place too." Unlike the others who were surprised, Kenny showed a somewhat excited expression on his face. He turned around and went down the stairs, thinking that everyone was about to be rescued.

As for the walkers below, they had already been attracted by the sound of bullets and were killed shortly after approaching the war zone.

"Ah!"

As soon as he opened the car door, Dominic, not far away, heard terrified screams from outside. He frowned slightly, looked at the few people coming down behind him, and said, "Glenn, check the car trunk; there might be people hiding."

"Rick, Daryl, if you can take one alive, do it. We need to confirm our knowledge with a new source of information, but if they dare to resist, you can kill them without any problem."

"As for the others, take care of eliminating the walkers!"

"Yes!" With their respective tasks, several people dispersed and moved quickly in different directions.

Seeing them leave, Dominic sighed, moved his body, and glanced at the unknown area before his eyes. After walking down the street, he killed some walkers and then moved to another side with his rifle in hand.

Walking closer, he looked at the fields in the distance surrounded by blocks, where only more than garbage could move.

Shushasha!

At that moment, Dominic heard a rush of footsteps behind him. He turned his head to look and saw seven figures appearing behind him, the main figure being an old man with a cap.

It was the group of survivors he had contacted. They seemed to be led by Morgan, whom he was slightly familiar with, but something seemed different. Moving the button to automatic on his weapon, Dominic smiled and said, "I was about to leave, thought you were scared by the shots. We've resolved all the issues in this place, you're lucky."

Kenny stepped forward, looked at Dominic in front of him, and quickly said, "A few days ago, we heard some calls saying a military base was safe. We came to ask for help so everyone in our group could be rescued."

"Now's not the time to talk about that. Do you have any weapons? If so, I need you to hand them over, and then I'll listen to what you have to say." Dominic heard those words and knew this old man wasn't lying. It was almost incredible they guessed they were with the military base. But even if he knew Morgan, he wouldn't trust people like them so easily.

Seeing him still in such a relaxed mood even after asking for their weapons, Morgan, who was behind, was very anxious and said, "Kenny, let's hand over our weapons first."

Saying that, he turned directly and was about to run towards the row of buildings with a girl by his side, seeing the walkers approaching.

"If you don't want to die, you'd better not go there!"

Before Morgan could run a few steps forward, Dominic turned to stop his impulsive behavior. He looked at the other party's perplexed look, walked to his side, and said, "My soldiers are clearing things up there. People with adrenaline-filled hearts, they don't know you. If you still have a weapon you haven't handed over, if they find out about your existence, they won't talk to you, they'll shoot you, so you'd better stay by my side!"

Then Dominic drew his pistol and, with twelve precise shots, eliminated all the approaching walkers without any problem.

When Dominic led Morgan and the others to an open field outside the buildings, there were already dozens of survivors crouching with their heads in their hands, and Stuart was watching by their side.

Immediately, behind them, some soldiers in gray military uniforms stood with weapons in their hands, while others were tying up these survivors.

Behind the car, there were two trucks parked outside for the moment, and they entered because the matter was resolved. A man carried the resource boxes with his expression covered by his helmet.

When Stuart saw Dominic approaching, he looked at the few people behind him and didn't pay much attention. He stepped forward and reported, "Boss, there are a total of forty-eight survivors here. Three of the guards were killed, and two were captured. The rest of the people who showed resistance were killed."

"Good, contact Daniel's group and ask if they've already solved the problem with the cannibals. None of that group should remain alive."

Dominic looked at the people crouched on the ground in front of him. Most were elderly, women, and children, with only a few young adults.

At this moment, they were lowering their heads, their faces full of horror, but he could see the bitter hatred hidden deep in these people's eyes.

Seeing this, Dominic just chuckled and didn't pay much attention. In this last world, there has never been good or bad, justice or evil. When you're in a different position, you'll naturally see things from different angles, and this was something he had learned since he almost died on different occasions.

He turned his head to look at Stuart and said, "You had said the base was completely taken. Have you prepared a special place for interrogations?"

"The place is ready. It's in the military base, and people are already being interrogated for their next transfer."

"Alright, Negan, come with me."

Dominic nodded slightly, greeted Negan, who was leaning against the side of the truck, and led Morgan and the others together towards the building.
