Chapter 78 - In Danger

Alicia walked very slowly, trying to keep her pace as light as possible and not daring to take her eyes off the walkers in front of her.

As the distance closed, Alicia realized the walker was much taller than she imagined. Sitting on the ground, just the height was enough to make Alicia feel overwhelmed by the size.

Alicia wanted to use her weapon, but there was a problem; they could be heard by both walkers and the humans searching for them.

Dominic wanted to find a vehicle to escape; staying in this place with only trees and a few houses was not the best they could do.

"Watch our backs; I'll take care of the walkers," Dominic said, taking a step forward with difficulty.

Alicia wanted to refuse, but seeing how stubborn Dominic was, here was not the place to start a fight, so she stepped aside.

Looking at this gigantic walker, electric currents ran from his back along his cervical spine to the top of his head, numbing his scalp. Adrenaline made Dominic's breathing accelerate.

When one was close to death, all senses acted in harmony as an alert.

But Dominic numbed these feelings and kept walking; they couldn't turn back because there were more people behind them who were likely trying to find supplies they had abandoned.

Dominic's hands tightly gripped his long sword, his breath and surroundings darkening as he focused on a single point.

Finally, he was three steps away from this gigantic walker, raised his sword, and attacked without hesitation.

Crack!

The walker's head came off easily, but at the same time, a wave of pain made Dominic fall to the ground. "Damn pain..."

"Dominic, I found some vehicles, but there are some people." Alicia, who was watching their rear, approached quickly.

"Where are they?"

"Very close..."

Dominic looked at Tomas and said, "You'll have to help us with them."

"What do I have to do?" Tomas was determined to help with whatever was needed.

...

"Didn't you find the kid?" One of the men who was guarding the vehicles saw that his companions were taking longer than expected to return.

"The Governor should be going crazy looking for him, but he probably forgot about him with the helicopter he managed to bring down."

"Hmm, damn it, it's getting really cold."

Crack!

"Help me!"

Roooaarrr!

At that moment, Tomas ran out of an alley being chased by walkers. The three men who saw Tomas run raised their weapons and shot the walkers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

But at the same time, just as they were about to raise their weapons and shoot Tomas from the other end, Alicia emerged, shooting all of them in the head.

"Cleared, Alicia, no one's here." Dominic looked at the vehicles and didn't forget to puncture the tires, grab your supplies and weapons before leaving here.

He didn't know who those people were, but in a world like this, the last thing one should do is ask.

"Let's get out of here, now." Dominic got into the back to deal with his wound as soon as possible before it got infected.

Alicia got into the driver's seat and soon sped away from this place before the people nearby could catch them.

Danger had not left them because in an unknown place, anything bad could happen.

"How's your wound?"

Dominic, who was treating himself more carefully, said, "It doesn't look so bad; I'll be fine with luck that it doesn't get infected."

"I need to get out of here." Tomas, who was in the front, murmured while looking at the landscape through the window.

Alicia was confused and asked, "Why do you want to leave?"

"I was bitten a while ago..."

Dominic, who was bandaging the wound, sighed upon hearing this, looked at the bite mark on his shoulder, so Tomas had no salvation once the infection started killing him.

"Stop the car, Alicia."

"We won't let you."

"It's better now than letting him suffer, and you know it." Dominic in these situations was not someone who let himself be influenced by his feelings, so as soon as Alicia stopped the car, he got out, and Tomas, who had also gotten out, smiled.

"Any last words?" Dominic asked, looking at Tomas, who seemed dazed.

"None."

Bang!

Dominic shot without hesitation; the infection seemed to have consumed Tomas slowly, so there was no need to wait for him to suffer more.
