"Move aside," Dominic shouted as he shot a walker in the head, who was devouring an elderly man.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Dominic didn't bother with a silencer this time; he knew that outside the building, chaos reigned with people still protesting what they believed to be police abuse.
He had to get out of this building just to have a chance at surviving.
He would live, and he would make sure Emma didn't die in his memories either.
"Free the country!"
"We're going to destroy the city!"
Boom!
It was already night, and Dominic could see the chaos unfolding outside the building, with cars ablaze and the police struggling to contain the protests.
He needed to find a more isolated place. Fortunately, his motorcycle hadn't been set on fire, so he jumped on it as soon as he had the chance.
But as soon as he started the engine, a group of people approached with sticks in hand and started hitting his motorcycle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Dominic shot three people in the leg, knowing he wouldn't be leaving this place on the motorcycle due to the danger. So, he grabbed the briefcase with the rifle and ammunition and started walking.
As he walked through the streets and saw all the chaos unfolding, he knew the danger wasn't much because there were so many people on the streets that any walker present would go crazy trying to decide whom to attack.
All he could see wherever he looked were buildings in flames and protests in the streets, which was the closest thing to vandalism.
It seemed like instead of protesting, these people were only looting and setting businesses on fire.
Dominic hurried through the streets, evading all the chaos around him.
"Quick, everyone get out."
At that moment, Dominic heard a familiar voice, and when he turned his head, he saw Travis with the Salazar family, who seemed to be on the run.
"Aaaahhhhh!"
"That lunatic is high; shoot him!"
Dominic, who was at the other end of the street, could see an older man being bitten on the neck by a walker while others were recording on their mobile phones.
"What are you doing? Move away from there right now," shouted a police officer, who was aware of the chaos unfolding in the city.
But as he was about to try and separate the walker from the older person, a shot rang out from behind, hitting the walker in the head while it was on the ground.
"What the hell?"
"Run!"
Dominic stared at the walker on the ground and the police officer holding a gun. "You need to get out of here, officer. You won't control the people, let alone know how to deal with them. Advice: Shot in the head as soon as you see someone acting strange."
"Wait, you're under arrest!" The police officer pointed his gun at Dominic.
When the officer spoke, Dominic looked at the gun pointed at him and then looked into the officer's eyes.
He wasn't afraid of being shot; there was no fear in his gaze. All Dominic conveyed at that moment was his profound indifference to the events unfolding around him.
"Get out of here; it's not safe."
The police officer had no source of information about the infected, but Dominic's words were enough for him to lower his weapon.
There was no reason to detain him; all the infected must be eliminated, and those were the orders the police officer had to follow.
"Arghhh!!"
The police officer turned to the side, and when he saw that the older man with a bite on his neck was getting up, he didn't hesitate to aim his gun at him and pull the trigger.
Bang!
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
Meanwhile, Dominic had been running after Travis' group, but as he approached, he saw a scaffold collapse on and crush an elderly lady's foot, Salazar's wife.
At the same time, from the other side, a walker was attacking a police officer, so he shouted, "Mr. Travis, do you think I can join you?"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"What are you doing here?"
"It's a long story." Dominic stepped forward to help Salazar's wife out of the wreckage.
She stared at him for a few seconds before also helping. Quickly, after getting the woman out, Travis carried her through the streets while Dominic kept watch around them.
"Who are you?" Ofelia was a bit wary of Dominic because of all the blood on his body.
"Who are you?" Dominic asked the same question in return, having no desire to talk right now, so he preferred to move forward.
"Get in quickly, everyone."
Dominic didn't bother helping anyone and instead started assembling his rifle again. He didn't know what awaited them on the road, so he preferred to be prepared.
"Don't shoot anyone else." Travis shouted as he got into the truck.
Dominic didn't respond, but once his rifle was assembled, he loaded the first shot and looked around for potential targets.
"Do you know how to use that thing?" Daniel stared at Dominic, wanting to know if he was with someone reliable.
Dominic nodded, pulled out a secondary pistol in response, and handed it to Daniel, asking, "Do you know how to use this?"
"I have no problem." Daniel took the gun and sat towards Dominic, who went to the corner of the truck as it moved through numerous people, causing havoc.
"Only shoot if necessary; the shot must go to the head given the circumstances of how a walker dies." Dominic said as he checked his cell phone and looked at the new messages.
