Chapter 41 - Battle 2

Before the sword's tip could touch his clothes, Vanir clasped his palms together to halt the sword's advance.

Clash

A sound like a powerful lightning bolt echoed, immediately causing the ground within a hundred-meter radius to crack. The winds around them uprooted the few nearby trees, sending them flying.

A powerful purple light enveloped Vanir's body, while a white light surrounded Milcar.

Laughing heartily, Vanir pressed harder, causing the sword's tip to break.

Milcar wasted no time. He quickly tilted his body, retracted the sword, and punched Vanir on the face.

It was like lightning hitting the ground: Milcar's body covered in light, like a white light impacting the violet light that covers Vanir's body.

Vanir, still smiling, simply let Milcar hit him, sending his body flying like a missile in one direction.

Vanir's body, like a high-speed purple light, quickly impacted a mountain. His body created a powerful hole, and a mighty collision was heard.

Milcar didn't waste any time. His Qi overflowed, his body was not visible due to the white light surrounding him. It was like a white light quickly moving to where Vanir's body should be.

"This move was Seresdina's favorite", Milcar heard Vanir's unmistakable voice behind him in midair, halfway to the mountain.

Milcar's eyes widened in surprise as he felt a hand grab his neck, gripping it tightly in the next moment.

All this happened in a blink of an eye, and Milcar had no time to react. Vanir used magic to fly down at great speed, crashing into the ground using Milcar's body as a buffer.

Some miles away from Darkness, Kazuma, and Megumin, a powerful explosion of earth and smoke, comparable to one of Megumin's best spells, was visible.

Vanir, who had imitated the movement of a meteor to crash into the ground using Milcar as a buffer, quickly stepped away from the several-dozen-meter-wide crater he had created and looked at the pile of dust that had formed due to the collision.

Vanir squinted his eyes cautiously.

Only a second passed before a more dazzling white light than what previously covered Milcar appeared in the crater. The dust vanished, and Milcar's body was no longer visible. Inside, at the center of the crater, only a bright white light was visible. If a normal person looked at it, that person would be instantly blinded due to its luminosity.

"Do you think that crap can do something?... Vanir!... It's not enough!!!", A slightly crazed voice shouted from the bottom of the crater.

Vanir frowned while several thoughts crossed his mind. His hand moved slightly, making an intense purple light cover his palm.

"Not enough?", Milcar murmured to himself with a slight smile.

"Then how about this!!, Death Ray Style Vanir", Vanir used one of his signature spells. His hand rose as if pointing to the sky. In the palm of his hand, a large amount of unknown purple matter, like a mass of water contained by something invisible and pink, was visible.

The thing in Vanir's hand glowed intensely, the amount of magic contained in it was immeasurable. The next moment, Vanir aimed his hand at the crater.

From Vanir's hand, a purple ray with slight pink tones shot out like a never-before-seen beam, its diameter at least thirty meters wide, and its brilliance capable of blinding anyone.

Milcar, without any notable long-range abilities, made his Qi boil inside him. The golden light emanating from him calmed, and his body seemed to absorb all that white light.

Milcar used his Qi to launch himself like a comet upward.

The broken sword he had been holding was covered in a sort of white light, not as bright but denser.

The sword pointed forward, ready to impact Vanir's Death Ray Style.

From a distance, it looked like a bright purple light during the day impacting an equally intense white light.

The collision generated a wind that quickly swept everything around, sending trees, rocks, and all sorts of monsters flying.

The walls of Axel city were rapidly bombarded by all sorts of objects or lighter animals.

Even with the distance of several miles between Milcar and Vanir's battle and the city walls, a strong wind was still felt hitting Axel's walls, though without causing any damage.

In Baron Alderp's castle.

Observing from a high tower, both Alderp, Wiz, and Yunyun watched those two lights colliding in the distance. They couldn't see clearly due to the distance, only seeing two lights clashing.

The vast amount of magic Vanir expelled at every moment to strengthen his Death Ray could be felt by Wiz, who immediately felt a stabbing pain in her heart.

Standing at such a long distance, fighting with his iconic Death Ray and using that much magic, Wiz couldn't help but feel absolute terror thinking about that smiling companion named Vanir.

Alderp, for his part, though not understanding the gravity of the matter, still didn't dare utter a word.

By now, Yunyun was breathing heavily, just concentrating on the vast amount of magic expelled by the purple light made her mind feel continuous pain.

"Who is the white light?", Wiz couldn't help but wonder in her mind. That white light didn't emanate any magic, but it could still fight against the purple light generated by Vanir's Death Ray.

"All guards and adventurers must take positions near the wall!!", Alderp shouted commandingly. His son Walter received the order and began running towards the captains to carry out his father's orders.

The atmosphere in Axel village was grim, only houses and buildings with closed doors and windows, along with deserted streets, could be seen.

On the battlefield.

The clash had reached a deadlock. Vanir, with his powerful magic, and Milcar, with his limited experience but powerful Qi in the ninth maximum stage of Qi condensation, seemed evenly matched.

Within the white Qi dome that had strengthened thanks to Milcar's continuous control, Darkness clenched her fists and closed her mouth. The terror she felt watching the two lights clashing that had tormented her mind gradually faded. Her face was full of seriousness, and she seemed to have made a decision.

Although she didn't know exactly who the person who suddenly appeared was, she could still tell that Milcar is the white light and was fighting to the death against that person.

How could she stay inside this white dome doing nothing while Milcar fought with his life on the line?
