Chapter 3 - Meet Eris

"It's not far", Milcar murmurs, beginning to walk in the direction indicated by his goddess locator.

The streets are wide, and people walk back and forth, with Milcar attracting attention due to his appareance. However, the locals seem accustomed to such things, so they just look at him with curiosity.

After passing through several streets, Milcar arrives at a large building with words resembling hieroglyphs written on a round wooden table sign near the large door of this establishment. To no one's surprise, Milcar can read this wooden sign.

"Adventurers' Guild", Milcar mutters under his breath, a slight smile appearing on his lips. The sounds inside the Adventurers' Guild are varied: many people are drinking, many are talking among themselves, and generally, there is quite a lively sound of people sharing a meal.

Checking the goddess locator a couple of times to avoid mistakes, Milcar breaks into a smile and takes a few steps forward.

Once inside the Adventurers' Guild, he observes a rather medieval setting: men drinking beer, women eating food, many waitresses, and a head with white hair that catches Milcar's attention.

"Eris", Milcar mutters under his breath, and a white-toothed smile appears on his face. Indeed, his assumptions were not exaggerated; the goddess of water, Aqua, exchanged three churches with him in return for giving him Eris as subordinate, or at least the avatar of the goddess Eris in this wonderful world.

Milcar walks confidently to the table where Eris is enjoying some fried giant frog meat.

"Did it happen again?, I told you not to act like that, hmph...", Eris murmurs with a hint of sadness in her voice. A beautiful woman with golden hair, an hourglass figure, and a delicate face is sitting next to Eris. She looks quite discouraged as she plays with a piece of frog meat.

"I've tried, Chris, but I...", The blonde blushes slightly, some thoughts crossing her mind, and she can't help but smile a little. She deliberately uses the chopsticks in her hands to poke the frog meat in a rhythmic pattern, pushing and pulling the chopsticks from the fried frog meat.

Eris's face turns a light shade of red, and she grits her teeth lightly, quickly hitting her friend on the head and scolding her for being too perverted.

"Ahem", a slight cough interrupts Eris's scolding. Eris quickly turns her head a few degrees to see who coughed.

A man with a fairly average appearance seems to be between twenty and thirty years old, with a somewhat sturdy build, a strange face, and a low profile.

"NPC", this word crossed Eris's mind for a moment before disappearing.

"How can I help you?", Eris asks as she puts a piece of fried frog meat into her mouth.

"Well, actually, yes. You see...", Milcar can't find the words to describe the situation, so he simply takes out a small piece of paper that appeared in his pocket when he came to this world. The small piece of paper is the master-servant contract that appeared in his back pocket when he arrived in this world.

"What's that?", Eris puts another piece of fried frog meat into her mouth and licks her lips lightly before accepting the piece of paper.

"Eh, by the way, I suggest you read it by yourself", Milcar says earnestly. Darkness, who was stretching her neck to see the paper's contents, quickly looks at Milcar with a frown.

"Are you trying to blackmail Chris?", Darkness asks, with a hint of suppressed emotion hidden in her eyes.

Milcar doesn't need a second look to know who this temperamental woman is who looks at him with distaste.

"Well, What would you do if that is true?", Milcar smiles. Darkness lowers her head for a moment before looking at Milcar in the eyes.

"I don't know who you are, but... Chris is important to me. I'm sorry, I can't allow this", much to Milcar's surprise, Darkness didn't act pervertedly; instead, she stood up and drew her sword from its sheath.

"What's happening here?", Milcar can't help but wonder, asking himself why Darkness would be willing to fight him over a single comment. Several questions pass through Milcar's mind.

Darkness points her sword at Milcar before exhaling a little cold air.

"You smell like shit, Sir. Could you at least bathe once a month?", Darkness says with disdain. Milcar quickly tries to smell his own scent and can't help but feel a wave of disgust that makes him retch.

"How could I forget?!", Milcar suppresses the urge to vomit while remembering something important. Immortal cultivation is about refining Qi in the body. During this process, impurities can escape from the body through the pores. In light novels, it's said that this expelled impurity can smell even worse than a sewer.

However, it seems like no one in the tavern noticed his scent. Why?

Milcar wonders, apparently forgetting that most adventurers have lost their sense of smell. Many of them lived through experiences so challenging that they simply lost certain senses to survive.

But Darkness, a noblewoman who grew up in a castle, is not that type of adventurer.

Chris, who was reading the paper sheet while covering her nose with a handkerchief, suddenly froze in place.

"You...", Darkness began breathing heavily, her face changing colors, and her slightly teary eyes looked at Milcar with anticipation.

"I... Nevermind, hehe", Milcar laughed slightly, noticing the change in Darkness's expression. After all, it would be too difficult for him to use his knowledge of the world if certain things changed slightly.

Darkness is still Darkness.

Two lion-like eyes quickly focused on Milcar. Eris is looking at him, breathing heavily, cold sweat running down her spine, and an expression of disbelief on her face.

"Eh..." Milcar glanced at Chris, who returned the look. For a moment, there was a slight connection between them, and a kind of seal appeared on Chris's neck and Milcar's neck.

"I..." Chris wiped the tears that threatened to escape from her teary eyes with her right hand. Her body trembled slightly, her breathing became rapid, and right now, she simply couldn't stop thinking about her future.

"Well, lady... it would be easier if we clarified a few things. I mean, well, you... I...", Milcar forced a smile upon seeing Chris begin to sob.

A heavy breathing sound could be heard, quickly drawing Milcar's attention.

Raising his head slightly, Milcar could see that Darkness had already taken a few steps toward him, her blushing face and shiny eyes speaking for themselves.

"Did you come to make me faint with your body odor that could come from an ancient sewer?, Hehe, sir, it's not that easy. I, I...", Darkness licked her lips slightly, no longer covering her nose, and her expression was like that of an addict inhaling forbidden substances through her nostrils.

Milcar leaned back slightly, opening his eyes and looking at Darkness with some caution. "Damn... lady, I mean, those are some really filthy preferences, your husband must be the happiest man in the world. hehe..." Milcar swallowed slightly before looking at Eris.

Eris had her head down, and the faint sobs escaping from her mouth were barely audible due to Darkness's moans. Her body trembled slightly.

"I can't!!!", Eris suddenly shouted, tearing the sheet of paper into a thousand pieces, holding her hands to her head, and screaming as if there were no tomorrow.

Eris quickly drew dozens of stares, and the tavern fell silent, with only Darkness's moans and Eris's scream audible.
