Today was the day I decided to teach Belz the art of chanting magic without circles, but to be honest, I was totally clueless about where to start. As I racked my brain for ideas, Belz, in her usual direct manner, cut through my thoughts with a simple question.
"So, Apostle, what's the plan for today's training?" she asked, her enthusiasm palpable.
I stared at her blankly for a moment, feeling the weight of my own uncertainty. "Um, well, first, uh, you should meditate and concentrate," I stammered, trying to buy myself some time to come up with a more coherent plan.
Belz gave me a skeptical look, clearly not buying into my vague instructions. "What exactly am I supposed to meditate and concentrate on?" she asked, sounding a bit impatient but respectful.
I scratched my head nervously, scrambling to come up with a plausible answer. "On... uh, finding the things inside your body!" I blurted out, hoping it sounded somewhat reasonable.
"Things?" Belz repeated, looking utterly bewildered by my bullshit instructions.
I chuckled nervously at her confusion. "Yes, things. Just focus on your inner self, your energy, your connection to magic," I said some bullshit things. and I feel like I was digging myself into a deeper hole with every word.
With a determined nod, Belz closed her eyes and began to meditate as instructed. As she delved into her inner thoughts, Meanwhile, I frantically tried to think of a legitimate training strategy, cursing myself for not preparing better.
In a desperate bid to stall for time, I turned to the creation system for guidance, hoping it would offer some much-needed insight. "System, help a guy out here! I'm not sure how to train her, considering our bodies are different" I pleaded, feeling the pressure on me.
The creation system reminded me of my ability to modify her body, suggesting that I could enhance her intelligence to aid in her training.
"Remember, host, you have the power to modify her intellect. Once in a thousand years, remember?" it reminded me.
"Yeah, shit, I remember now," I muttered to the system, feeling a surge of determination as I recalled my ability to modify intelligence. With Belz's bewildered expression still fresh in my mind, I quickly issued the command. "System, modify her intelligence to 183 IQ. You can handle it on your own, right? I've got my hands full here."
As the system acknowledged my request, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of uncertainty. What if this sudden boost in IQ turned Belz into a super-genius? What if she become a mad genius or something that can cause destruction of the world? But in the chaos of the moment, I pushed aside my doubts, trusting that everything would work out in the end.
As the system worked its magic, Iam also excited too, you know about what kind of changes were taking place inside Belz's mind. Would she suddenly become a tactical genius, effortlessly solving complex things and unraveling the mysteries of the magic? Or would she remain the same Belz I knew, just with a little extra brainpower to help her along the way?
As Belz focused on her meditation, the changes from the modification started to kick in. She opened her eyes, a newfound brightness gleaming within them. "Um, Apostle, something feels different," she said, sensing the shift happening inside her.
With a hesitant nod and a forced smile, I responded, "Well, yeah, sure," my words masking the inner turmoil of my deception. Though I knew the truth, I couldn't bring myself to admit it.
But then Belz's unexpected remark caught me off guard. "Wow, I feel like I understand a little bit of magic, but I'm still having a hard time grasping the structure of spell magic," she confessed, her tone tinged with frustration.
Even though Belz is super smart with an IQ of 183, figuring out magic is still tough. Magic is super complicated, you know? Even in manga and manhwa, the super smart characters often spend weeks, months, or even years honing their craft. So, it totally makes sense that even someone as smart as Belz needs time to get the hang of it.
Then Trying my best to seem confident, I nodded along with Belz. "Of course, Belz, it's completely normal to feel that way," I told her, feeling a bit guilty about not being totally honest. "Mastering the complexity of spell magic takes time and practice, but I have no doubt that you'll get there eventually." Even though I wasn't feeling super sure myself. But hey, gotta keep the motivation up, right?
Belz looked at me earnestly, her eyes reflecting a mix of determination and frustration. "I hope so, Apostle," she said, a hint of uncertainty creeping into her voice.
With a reassuring smile, I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Trust me, Belz, you have all the potential in the world. It's just a matter of unlocking it," I said, channeling my best motivational speaker vibes.
As Belz nodded in response, I couldn't shake the guilt gnawing at my conscience. Here I was, pretending to be a knowledgeable mentor when, in reality, I was just making it up as I went along. But for Belz's sake, I had to keep up the charade and continue guiding her on her magical journey.
"So, what do you say we move on to the next phase of your training?" I suggested, ready to guide her further along her magical journey.
Determined to succeed, Belz nodded in agreement. "Yes, Apostle," she affirmed, her determination evident in her gaze.
As we delved into the next phase of Belz's training, I found myself grasping at straws, hoping to inspire her with borrowed wisdom. Mimicking the iconic Bruce Lee quote, I gestured dramatically with a swirling orb of water in my hand, trying to sound profound and mystical.
"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water," I said, attempting to channel my inner sensei. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a kylix, it becomes the kylix," I continued, shaping the water into various form like cup or kylix as if I were some kind of magical bartender.
Belz watched with wide-eyed wonder, a spark of fascination dancing in her eyes as she observed my theatrics. But I pressed on, determined to make this charade work.
"Think of water, Belz," I said, trying to keep it simple. "It can change shape, fill any container, or crash with force." Then I look at her in the eyes and said "Listen to cast magic without circles, you've gotta feel it, flow with it, be like water." I said my voice filled with mystery (bullshit)
"But Wow, I feel like such an awesome sensei," I thought to myself, barely able to contain my laughter at my own theatrics. "I mean, seriously, am I some kind of god of deception or what?, I wonderd if Belz was buying into my water-themed wisdom or just trying to keep a straight face.
Then Belz nodded eagerly, her eyes shining with newfound determination. "I understand now, Apostle Roe," she declared, her voice filled with unwavering conviction.
I couldn't help but shocked, Did she actually buy into my bullshit things? Hell yeah, I suppose that's the power of a Boosted IQ
With a straight face, I nodded back at her. "Good," I said, trying to maintain an air of solemnity despite the absurdity of the situation. "Then proceed to do it."
Belz looked at me with admiration, thinking I was some sort of magical master. She had no clue that I was just bullshitting it, hoping she wouldn't realize. But hey, if she believed I was a great teacher, who was I to burst her bubble?"
[Meanwhile Momoa side]
Momoa watched the interaction between Belz and Apostle Roe from a distance, lost in his thoughts. Suddenly, a voice interrupted his reverie.
"Grandpa Momoa," said Jono, appearing beside him with a mischievous grin.
Momoa blinked in surprise. "Jono, you're here," he replied, slightly caught off guard by the sudden appearance of his grandson.
But Jono wasn't done yet. With a gleam in his eye, he asked, "Do you love Grandma Belz?"
Momoa sputtered in disbelief. "What bullshit are you saying?" he retorted, attempting to brush off the question.
Jono wasn't giving up, even when Momoa tried to avoid the question. "I know you have feelings for Grandma Belz," he said straightforwardly. Then, with a knowing gaze, he continued, "Grandpa, Grandma Laa isn't here anymore. You're 400 years old now. Grandma Laa passed away a hundred years ago. Maybe it's time for you to find someone else to love."
Momoa's jaw dropped in astonishment. "How did you know? You weren't even born back then," he exclaimed, surprised by Jono's knowledge of his past.
But Jono just shrugged nonchalantly. "Come on, the villagers and Grandpa Cain told me," he explained casually.
Momoa sighed, feeling a bit foolish for underestimating Jono's sources of information. "Right, right. I feel stupid," he admitted sheepishly.
Jono seized the opportunity to tease his grandfather further. "Yep, that's why you should marry her so you won't feel stupid anymore," he teased, flashing a cheeky grin.
Momoa couldn't help but chuckle at Jono's audacity. "Come here, you brat. Don't tease your grandpa," he said, reaching out playfully.
But Jono was already off, sprinting away from the scene with a mischievous laugh. "Bye-bye, Grandpa!" he called out, disappearing into the distance.
