About a week later, we were told we were going to throw some sort of festival just to have some fun, and I couldn't be more excited. This meant I got to spend more time with Connor, and we could all show Willaim a great time, make him smile and laugh and just have fun. "So-what are we doing for our part?" I asked, holding Connor's hand. We were currently sitting in the common room, and Ms. Violet had promised to hang out with Willaim, so he was with her right now. They had grown close over the week, too, but not as close as he was to me. "No idea. I heard one of the other classes was making a play." Elizabeth said, sitting on the floor. "Maybe we could make some games? Or, like, a kissing booth?" Nerissa suggested, a hand over her mouth as her eyes shined, and she walked in. "That's a bit cliche, don't you think?" Amina cut in, sitting on the chair. "Maybe. But what else would be fun?" Suddenly, I stood up, pulling Connor with me. Unfortunately, we tumbled to the floor due to the sudden action. "Whoa. Didn't think you had it in you." He smirked, and I flushed, before kneeling him in the balls so he'd roll off me. The others snickered and laughed. "What was that for, b-babe?" He asked as I stood, wincing in pain and placing his hands over his soft spot protectively. "For assuming I'd do something like that. Also, I have an idea!" "Hmm?" "What is it?" "What if we put together a concert? Think about it." "I don't know." Nerissa muttered, looking up at the ceiling. "Why not? It would be so much fun! We could do so cherography and everything!" "But who knows anything about instruments and singing and-" Connor stood up. "Shelby does! She's obsessed with music!" I blushed. "Connor, I don't know that much-" "Stop lying, babe. I've seen you play the guitar, the drums, the piano-and I've heard you sing!" It was true. One of my jobs was working at a place that gave music lessons. Like how to play a certain instrument or sing. "I didn't know that! But it doesn't surprise me, honestly." "Girlie, you've got to teach us-the concert was your idea in the first place!" "Yeah, but I didn't think I would be playing-" Connor wrapped his arms around me from behind. "Playing an instrument? Oh, you're funny, love. You're singing." I flushed. "No, I'm not-my voice is so horrible-not-" "Shut up, we both know how angelic you sound." "Yes! She can teach us to play the instruments and she can sing!" "Count me in!" Suddenly, the rest of the class appeared in the doorway, and I sighed. I knew they wouldn't give up. "Oh my fucking God-fine! But only because you all wouldn't give the idea up. I'll make some notes and pass them out. But what type of song are we going to do?" Amina smirked. "A duet! You and Connor can sing, since we've heard him sing at our karoke nights, and I have a song in mind." "Ha! I'm taking you down with me, babe." I told him, smirking. "I-uh-I mean-" He stuttered. "Guys, he's broke." Nerissa teased, smiling. "Trust me, you'll love it. The song suits his voice pretty well, and I can imagine you singing it, too."
