Synopsis
I woke up to find myself transmigrating into one of the bloodiest eroges that had ever existed. I found myself in the body of a side character with many defects. Mellow Cornwell. A man who is blind. His ability to smell is nonexistent. All he could do was eat tasteless food because his taste buds were not working, and his feelings for touching were practically nonexistent. How would I, the new Mellow Milis, survive in such a world? All I have going for me is my hot childhood tending to me like she's my wife. It's pointless if I can't enjoy such treatment! [Warning: This is an 18+ novel, so expect smut or disturbing scenes you normally wouldn't see. This novel also has a darker tone, so don't think everything will be happy-going.]

Chapter 1 - Prologue

"..."

Who would have thought that I had just transmigrated into a bloody eroge game? I would have been okay with this genre, but the eroge game I have been transmigrated to is a rare gorey eroge game where death and cruel torture are a common theme.

To make matters worse, I was transmigrated into the most pitiful character in the game, Mellow Milis.

Mellow Milis is an important side character the player must keep alive to progress in the game. Due to his unbelievably low stats, Mellow was regarded as a trash character. While he is the best healer in the game, everything else he does would hinder your progress.

Cursed at a young age, Mellow had lost sight, the ability to smell, and the feeling of touch, including warmth, cold, pain, pleasure, and his sense of taste. With hearing being his only sense, I couldn't help but want to curse the world for making me into this character.

The game I have transmigrated to is called Infinite Blood Tide. The world is a post-apocalyptic world, and it is a what-if situation where Earth has been invaded by monsters on another plane and is on the verge of destruction.

With how terrible the situation is, it is estimated that only less than a hundred million survivors are left. Compared to the flourishing population it had before, humanity is now in a dire spot.

"Mellow, is there something wrong? Your expression keeps changing from terrible to worse." The voice beside me disrupted my thoughts.

The one who spoke was Caitlyn Citrus, Mellow's childhood friend. Like Mellow, Caitlyn is a relevant supporting character in the story, a reliable ally when you save Mellow's life.

Like most eroges, where any opposite gender of the protagonist could be a capture target, Caitlyn was just a supporting character you couldn't charm. She is devoted to Mellow.

If there was one thing great about this character, it was Caitlyn's affection. She was reliable, and her personality was great if you could get around her obsession.

"I'm sorry for making you worry. I'm just thinking about the future. I'm pretty nervous about it." Caitlyn and I had just moved to our dormitory. I did my best to reassure her that nothing was wrong, but my mind was still distressed about coming into this world.

I had transmigrated the day before the main plot began. The Infinite Blood Tide plot starts on the first day of the academy. Rather than an academy, it was more like a military school for young adults.

Once students finish their secondary education, they must attend a military academy for merit. With the manpower needed, this academy was set up to teach the younger generations how to fight and defend themselves. This shows how dire the situation is for humanity.

Caitlyn and I shared a dorm. Even if our gender differed, the academy didn't care. With humanity dropping like flies, repopulating is highly encouraged.

"Caitlyn, I know I already said this once. But I thank you for taking care of me. Even if it's tough, you have always been with me." This wasn't just for me but also for the old Mellow.

"Mellow..." she said like a maiden in love, touched by my feelings.

She embraced me gently, but the warmth I wanted to feel wasn't there. All I could do was feel the sensation of being shaken. The Mellow that Caitlyn once knew is gone, and in her place, I express my gratitude to her.

"Caitlyn, could you get me some water?" It had been a while since I drank something, and as a disabled person, I had to drink as much water as needed just in case I was incapable of drinking it due to Caitlyn being away.

Knowing that this was now my life, all I could do was feel aggravated. While a pretty girl is tending to me, there's no point if I can't enjoy it.

Soon, a wet sensation filled me. Caitlyn sneaked in a kiss before letting me sip on the bottle of water.

"Sorry, no matter how much we do this, it's still hard to balance the angle." Making an excuse for thinking that she didn't know how she was doing, Caitlyn feigned ignorance and apologized.

With the original Mellow's naivety, he would believe in almost anything Caitlyn would say. When Caitlyn realized her feelings for Mellow, she tested many methods of physical contact in private, checking how far she could go.

This was one instance where she could sneak in a kiss for self-pleasure without me knowing. The only reason I knew this was that the game stated that Caitlyn would take any inappropriate actions toward me when given the chance.

Even so, it didn't matter. I turned a blind eye to this because no emotions emitted as she had done this.

"You shouldn't apologize. I'm the one burdening you with this."

All I could think about was avoiding any bad endings for me. My death was the first, and being locked up in a basement was the second. You can guess who would lock me up in the basement, as one of them was beside me.

The basement ending was easy to avoid, and when the time came, Caitlyn's confession needed to be accepted. When Caitlyn confesses her feelings on every route, Mellow always rejects them.

It was a stupid reason, but due to Mellow's kindness, he didn't want to burden Caitlyn's future with her always attending to him. Caitlyn, talented in the way of war, was born to shine. Mellow couldn't bring himself to dim that light.

"Caitlyn, could you bring me to my bed? I'm starting to get tired." As I dealt with the memories of Mellow, exhaustion was starting to catch up with my mental state. Caitlyn, being the girl she is, was worried but brought me to bed.

"Caitlyn, I know this sounds strange, and you're free to reject it, but could you accompany me when I sleep?" I could hear her squeal, and I could imagine her blushing and drooling at this idea.

I was different from Mellow. While he didn't want to burden Caitlyn, I would make her mine. For my safety, I wouldn't hesitate to exchange my body for such peace of mind.

"Mellow... It's... It's no big deal." I found it amusing how Caitlyn tried her hardest to keep a straight face.

"Goodnight, Caitlyn." Agreeing with what I wanted, I embraced Caitlyn and eventually drifted asleep.
