One of Armon's elite armored soldiers approached Lyra's cell. She was curled up on the floor, muttering apologies to herself. "Let's go, it's time," the soldier said, his voice stern.
Lyra looked up, her eyes filled with remorse. Before the soldier could react, she lunged forward, grabbing his leg. Dark energy pulsed around her, a sinister aura emanating from her body. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she pleaded, her voice filled with desperation.
The soldier, alarmed by her sudden outburst, drew his sword, its golden blade glowing with an otherworldly energy. Lyra, sensing the danger, raised her hands in a defensive posture. "I'm sorry," she repeated, tears streaming down her face.
The soldier, lowered his sword, feeling a pang of pity, forced Lyra out of the cell. As they walked through the corridor, whispers and jeers followed them. Some prisoners spat at Lyra, who didn't even react.
"So this is how my life ends, huh?" Lyra muttered to herself, her voice filled with resignation.
The soldier sighed. "You killed a member of the Henderson family, the heir, no less. If you had simply stolen something, you might have had a chance," he explained.
"I'm cursed," Lyra whispered, her eyes glazed over.
Suddenly, a blue portal materialized in front of them. A man, dressed in a sleek grey suit, stepped out. The soldier's eyes widened in shock.
"Mr. Erik!" he exclaimed.
Erik, with a swift motion, summoned a pair of glowing green gauntlets and launched a powerful energy blast at the soldier. The soldier, caught off guard, was vaporized instantly.
Father!" Lyra exclaimed, tears streaming down her face. She rushed to hug him, and he embraced her warmly.
"I'm so sorry for what happened to you," Erik said, his voice filled with sympathy.
Suddenly, two armed guards burst into the room. "Stop right there!" one of them shouted.
Erik furrowed his eyebrows, a determined look in his eyes. He unfurled a scroll, its surface etched with strange symbols. With a swift gesture, he activated the portal, a swirling vortex of blue energy. Grabbing Lyra's hand, he stepped through the portal, disappearing into the ethereal gateway.
The guards exchanged confused glances. "We lost them," one of them muttered.
David, a young soldier with short blond hair and piercing black eyes, approached the spot where Erik and Lyra had stood. He reached out and touched the residual energy, a thoughtful expression on his face. "That was Erik Lawman." He murmured to himself.
What should we do David?" Another soldier asked.
"....."
*********
Aiden entered the healers ward to check up on Peter. He looked towards Peter's bed and was a little bit surprised to see Pelia.
"They are siblings after all." Aiden said to himself.
"So how is he?" He said while walking towards them.
"He hasn't changed at all. Still unconscious," Pelia said as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"I don't understand. He should've woken up by now." Aiden said with a look of concern on his face.
"He is struggling with Lyra's ability effects." A voice was heard.
Aiden and Pelia turned to look at who said that and it was no other than Issac ironheart.
"Mr Ironheart." Pelia approached him and knelt down before him surprising Issac and Aiden.
"No no get up my dear." Issac said with a light smile.
Pelia refuses.
"Please can you help him?"
Issac sighed when he heard this .
"Based on my theory, the only way to help him is to ask Lyra to undo the effects of her abilities."
"Yes yes let's go and meet her then." Pelia said as she begins to walk towards the wards entrance.
"I believe that is not possible." Issac said.
"Why? Why not!" Pelia said with a sign of anger in her voice.
"Lyra escaped."
Aiden and Pelia widened their eyes in surprise.
"How is that even possible." Pelia said in disbelief. "From what I've heard it is very hard to escape the Atlantian dungeon."
"True." Unless you're an S rank or you have dimensional scrolls you might have a chance of escaping."
"Dimensional scrolls?"
"Yes it can be used to travel to another world or another location within the current world you reside in." Issac explained.
"So Lyra has a dimensional scroll?" Pelia asked.
"No she does not have a dimensional scroll. She was rescued by Erik lawman, her adopted father."
Aiden looked at Pelia who gritted her teeth in anger.
"So she just left without even removing her curse mark from my brother!!!" Pelia shouted.
"Calm down little one. I can remove the paralysis I placed in his head using my abilities but know this he can snap at any moment." Issac said.
"I will stop that from happening." Pelia said as she looked at Aiden who nodded in response.
A blue portal shimmered into existence in a desolate, scorched landscape. Lyra and Erik stepped out, the young girl's eyes wide with astonishment.
"What... what was that?" Lyra stammered, her voice filled with wonder.
"A dimensional scroll," Erik explained, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "I probably shouldn't have told you this so early, but it doesn't matter. You need to stay ahead."
Lyra followed Erik as he approached a mysterious black door embedded in the ground. "Our hideout," he said, a hint of pride in his voice.
As they descended the illuminated staircase, Lyra's eyes widened in awe. The underground chamber was a treasure trove of knowledge and power. Bookshelves lined the walls, filled with ancient texts and scrolls. A large, round table dominated the center of the room, surrounded by five ornate chairs.
"Voilà!" Erik exclaimed, a triumphant grin on his face. Lyra could hardly contain her excitement as she explored the hidden sanctuary.
It's beautiful," Lyra breathed, her eyes wide with wonder.
"Oh, well, John did a lot of thinking to create this," Erik shrugged.
"John?" Lyra tilted her head, confused.
"Yeah, one of our members," Erik explained.
"Our members?" Lyra questioned, her curiosity piqued.
Erik sat down on one of the chairs, adjusting his glasses. "Well, one of the members of what we call the Twilight Organization," he revealed.
