Chapter 22 - Not getting jealous when your husband sits next to another woman.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow." He turned to leave irritably and went back to his room.

Danera heard the sound of Zayn's footsteps moving away from her bedroom door, letting out a sigh of relief.

She lay down on the bed and stared blankly at the ceiling. After Zayn left, she thought back to her actions and felt a little anxious.

She had already made Zayn angry today. She was worried that Zayn would retaliate and divorce her. How would she explain this to Billy?

Danera felt a little sorry just thinking about it.

But... Danera doesn't want to give up her body in exchange for Doriane. She loved Zayn, but didn't want to be blindly satisfying Zayn's desire to see her as a substitute for Doriane.

One day she will definitely be disposed of and Billy will sell her to an old man who benefits the Gillard family.

Her future is very bleak. Danera must think of a way to escape.

....

The next morning, Danera met Zayn coming out of the room. He looked dashing and handsome in his work suit. It looked like he was going to work.

"Good morning, Mr. Zayn ...." She tried to say hello.

The man glanced at her with a cold stare and left indifferently. Danera pursed her lips and walked behind him.

A servant came to tell her that Emily requested the couple's presence to have breakfast together.

As soon as they arrived the dining room was filled with every member of the Wilde family and the Cooper family. The servants were busy serving breakfast on the tables.

There were two empty seats reserved for the couple. Danera sat in the empty seat facing Leticia.

"Good morning." Zayn greeted everyone at the table and took the empty seat next to Leticia, instead of the empty seat reserved for the couple.

His action caught the attention of everyone at the dinner table and they looked at Danera with strange looks. But Danera looked indifferent as her husband sat next to another woman.

Leticia smiled sweetly to greet Zayn.

"Good morning, Zayn. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, how about you?" Zayn replied with a slight smile.

Leticia didn't think Zayn would respond to her and replied gently. "Pretty good. Are you going to work?"

"Yes."

While Zayn and Leticia chatted, Janeth glanced at Danera with a sly smile.

"You guys look so close, even sitting next to each other like a real husband and wife. Zayn, are you trying to make your wife jealous?"

Emily glanced at Janeth with a reprimanding look. She shouldn't reveal Danera and Zayn's problems in front of the Cooper family.

But Janeth pretended not to notice.

Leticia felt awkward at Janeth's words and looked at Danera.

"Did I make you uncomfortable? I'm sorry, Doriane ...."

Danera smiled sweetly. "Why apologize for such a trivial thing? I have no problem with that."

"Uhm well ...." Leticia didn't know how to respond to Danera's words.

"I heard from the maid that you and Zayn live in separate rooms. Did you two have a fight? I also heard that you locked Zayn out of the room. Your voices were so loud that the maids could hear." Janeth did not stop and brought up their problems at the dinner table.

She was dissatisfied at not being able to be with Zayn last night and heard that her cousin had returned to his room. Janeth was thrilled that Danera and Zayn were sleeping in separate rooms. She takes this opportunity to tell everyone that they don't get along.

Mrs. Cooper was surprised to look at Danera and Zayn in turn. "Are you having problems? You just got married."

It would be better if they fought and divorced. That way her daughter would have a chance to be with Zayn.

"Mom, that's their problem." Leticia looked up at her mother and shook her head signaling her not to interfere.

Danera remained calm and unconcerned when everyone knew about her fight with Zayn.

"We just had a little fight because Zayn was drunk and smelled of alcohol. I don't like the smell of alcohol because it makes me uncomfortable when I sleep. So we moved to sleep in the guest room," Danera said. She didn't reveal what exactly happened.

Zayn glanced at her but didn't say anything.

"Huh, just because of that problem? It's a small problem, why are you making a small problem into a big problem. Making a big deal out of Zayn being drunk and smelling of alcohol. All men are like that. You say as if you've never been drunk. You're too sanctimonious." Janeth said mockingly.

"You're so noisy." Zayn looked at her with a piercing glare. He was sure that what happened to him last night was because the wine Janeth gave him was poisoned.

Janeth immediately fell silent when Zayn reprimanded her. She felt uneasy and anxious under Zayn's cold gaze. She was afraid that Zayn would realize what was done to his wine.

She felt anxious and afraid. "Za... Zayn... I'm just defending you."

"You interfere too much. I don't need your defense."

Alisha, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, also couldn't stand Janeth's rude attitude and reprimanded her sternly. "It's their problem, why are you interfering?"

She looked at Emily with a dissatisfied gaze. "What's wrong with that nephew of yours? Since yesterday she has been very rude and rude like an uneducated person. Has she never been to school and never been taught manners in her family? Is this your husband's uneducated family?"

Although Emily disliked Danera, their problems only needed to be known by family members. She didn't like the way Janeth had publicized Zayn's quarrel in front of the Cooper family who were guests. But she had to defend Janeth so that her mother would not continue to demean her husband's family.

"Janeth is just spoiled by her family and insensitive, but that doesn't mean she and her family are uneducated," Emily said and looked at Janeth. "Janeth, next time don't bother with other people's problems. It's rude."

Janeth bit her lower lip in dissatisfaction but did not argue for fear that Zayn would find out about the problem with the wine.

Alisha sneered looking at her daughter somewhat dissatisfied. "Don't indulge that rude girl. She'll be even more rude and disrespectful if not punished. Next time don't allow her to come here."
