Chapter 65 - Quest completed

[First Person POV] [Flashback a few minutes ago]

I was going to Eric's location, well, the new hovercar has an AI drive, so I don't have much to do other than reading the files on Eric. This bastard is even worse than I imagined. Fucker sold so many kids and even organ smuggling... I'm gonna beat the shit out of him today.

On the way, the system screen popped up and I finally got that reward.

Jesus fucking Christ. These skills are freaking cheats. Devour sounds like the perfect skill to get all the knowledge and skills I want and power drain is enough to kill anyone and increase my own power. I can use this on Captain Marvel and gain her skills. Hehehe... Then I won't have to wait to buy a spaceship to go to Earth. I can just fly there. Not to mention her immense cosmic power. Wait! If I use this on all the superheroes and mutants out there, excluding those disgusting mutations that alter the body, then... Hehehehe... I can do so many not-so-good things with this skill...

Oh, boy, I need to test these skills asap. But first, let's beat Eric Renner to a pulp.

Time to test the fast travel skill. I opened the map on the System screen and selected Eric's current location. In the next second, I teleported near him. I thought it would be super flashy, but it was just a matter of blinking, and I was already there. Eric was running toward a small pod-like spaceship and the Nova Corps officers were chasing after him. Before he could enter the pod, I dashed behind him, grabbed his neck, and threw him up in the sky before he crashed to the ground.

"Yo. Motherfucker. Get ready for a round of beating," I said, cracking my knuckles.

"Who the fuck are you?" Eric asked as he struggled to stand up.

"You don't remember me? Humm... Weird. For someone who tried to take advantage of my mom, you are way too forgetful, dude. But with age, I can understand... You got too much tension. But don't you worry. I'm gonna beat you so much that you'll die right here, painfully at that. Won't that be a delight?" I smirked.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" He spat, struggling to speak as he coughed out blood.

"I don't even know you."

"Don't worry, Eric. You are a dead man. So, all you need to focus on is feeling this intense sensation I'm gonna give you," I dashed toward him and punched him in the guts. The impact of my punch sent him flying up into the sky.

When he fell down, I jumped forward and stomped on his legs, making him cry in pain. "ARGGGG!! MOTHERFUCKER!"

The Nova Corps officers surrounded the area, isolating it completely. Now, I can finally complete this long-awaited quest. The quest that all the devs from my past life failed to accomplish and abandoned the game. But now, I'm in control of it and I'll make sure to make his death as painful as possible.

I watched Eric writhe in agony beneath me, clutching his shattered legs. The look on his face—pure terror mixed with confusion—was exactly what I had hoped for. It was hard to believe that a man who had caused so much suffering could still act like a victim. But here he was, reduced to a trembling heap, trying to process the hell that was about to unfold.

"You know," I said, crouching down next to him, "for a guy who's done as much dirt as you, you sure don't seem to recognize me. But that's fine. You don't need to know my name to understand what's coming."

Eric's eyes were wild, scanning around as if searching for an escape that didn't exist. Blood dripped from his mouth as he tried to speak, but I wasn't interested in hearing whatever pathetic excuse he had to offer. I just smiled, feeling the adrenaline surge through me.

"Let's start with the basics," I said with a cold glare at him. "Remember the kids you trafficked? The ones you lured from slums with promises of a better life, only to sell them off like cattle after getting them hooked on drugs? I bet their screams are still echoing somewhere in the back of your twisted mind."

Eric tried to stammer out a response, but I wasn't done.

I grabbed him by the collar and dragged him closer, so he could see the fury in my eyes. "You thought you could get away with all of it, didn't you? The blackmail, the drug deals, the weapons smuggling… You were so sure no one would ever come after you. But here I am, Eric. I'm here to make sure you pay for every life you ruined. Oh, now, I sound like one of those heroes from a novel. Well, why not? Today, I'll be cleaning up a speck of dirt from this universe."

His breathing grew ragged.

"You thought you were untouchable," I spat as I pulled him up before slamming my fist into his gut. He doubled over, wheezing, but I wasn't finished. "But no one's untouchable, Eric. Not even you. You're just a coward who hides behind money and power, but that doesn't mean shit to me."

I said while wiping the blood off my knuckles. "You've smuggled humans like they were products, ripped out organs from people who trusted you, and you've taken advantage of the weak. But now, you're the one who's weak. And no amount of money or connections can save you from what's coming."

"You want money? I can give you all I have, take everything, yeah? Just don't kill me. Please. I can pay you double, triple. Just don't kill me, please." Eric begged pathetically.

"Money?" I let out a hollow laugh. "This isn't about money, Eric. This is about your decisions. You see, all the decisions we make have consequences, good or bad, and yours has caught up to you. I guess that's what they call karma, huh?"

Eric's eyes were filled with a mix of dread and resignation. He knew this was the end. There was no escape, no one to bribe, and no way out of the hell I was going to put him through. The only thing left for him was the pain I was giving him.

"I'm not going to kill you quickly, Eric. That would be too easy. You're going to feel every single hit, every single bone I break. And when you're finally begging for death, that's when I'll decide if you've suffered enough."

I leaned in closer, "And after I'm done with you, Xander will know the fate of those who do shitty things like you. Your legacy would be like a shitty fucker who died while shitting his pants... How does that sound?"

With that, I slammed my fist into his face, relishing the crunch of bone beneath my knuckles. This was only the beginning.

"ARGGG!" Eric screamed.

I punched him again, harder this time.

Blood spurted from his nose as he cried out in agony, but I wasn't done. I kept hitting him, over and over again, until his face was a bloody mess. I used my new skill power drain on him, draining his stats. With every punch, I drained more of his stats, and with each hit, he became weaker. The Nova Corps officers stood by and watched, making no move to stop me.

Eric's body began to grow older as I continued to drain his stats. His skin turned wrinkly and sagged from his bones. His hair turned grey and fell out in clumps. His muscles withered away until he was nothing more than a frail old man, barely able to breathe. I stepped back, satisfied with my work. Eric lay on the ground, his body broken and aged beyond recognition. He was barely alive, his heartbeat faint and irregular. His body was all twisted up and crippled. His arms, legs, fingers, hips, knees, and even his toes were all bent in different directions. He looked like a ragdoll that had been thrown around by a child.

I looked at Eric, satisfied with my work. The man who had caused so much suffering was finally getting his just desserts.

"Well, go to hell, motherfucker!" I stomped on his head, splattering his brains everywhere.
