Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Jayden and Kailan were engaged in their fourth round of a computer game when Raphael mindlinked him.

"Ashira has been captured by the Royal Guards, Jay. You need to get here quickly!"

Jayden hurriedly let go of the game pad and dashed out the door. This was not good. Indeed, too bad. Ashira was seriously endangered. He wished he had never gone back to this pack in the first place, and that was why he had gone to Raven to get the seal. Being discovered in the human world would have been preferable to Ashira being subjected to the merciless wrath of the warlord. For crying out loud, he thought his mother would be there, but she was nowhere to be found. He was well aware of the event involving his mother and the pack; their elopement was prompted by the attack. Consequently, he was aware that if Raven discovered Ashira's identity, chaos would ensue.

The only daughter of Anita Stone, their most hated and feared foe.

Christ!!!.

He barged into the room, charging towards Raphael with inhuman speed.

"I-I..I..I have no idea how..." Tears were streaming down his cheeks as he shook his head wildly.

Jayden was unable to reassure his brother because things were not alright. There was a threat to their sister.

"Let us visit the palace."He met Jayden's surprised gaze. "Yeah...maybe he will listen to our pleadings." He was aware of the Alpha prince's cruelty and coldness, but he was desperate enough to do anything right now.

Jayden knew his brother was having trouble thinking straight at the moment. In an effort to shed any ties to their mother's side of the family, they had even changed their last name before joining the pack. Fortunately for them, most people were unaware of their relationship with their mother and she never took them on one of her wolf hunting excursions. When they eloped, Ashira was just a baby. Ashira had questioned them about why they were altering their last name.

"Wade..." The name her brothers desired to take, she muttered. "What makes you want to rename our last name from Stone to Wade?" She could not comprehend her brothers' desire to change their incredible last name to an adopted one.Wade...

Though it was not a bad one, she was curious as to why they were altering.

With a perplexed expression on Raphael's face, Jayden and Rapheal's eyes were locked on one another as though they were speaking telepathically.

Following an awkward ten minutes of silence...

"Attention!" I eyed them both and slammed my palm on the table. "I posed a query?"

"Princess..." In a quiet, low voice, Jayden was speaking."Wade just seems like the best fit for us."

When I looked at Raphael, he gave me a tense smile.

That is all there is to it? That is the reason it needs to be changed. For suitability?" Nearly incredulous, Ashira inquired.

Jayden only nodded.

With a helpless shake of her head, Ashira sighed. It sounded like they had made up their minds, so why were they asking her opinion as if it mattered?

"Okay..." With a flat reply, she ascended the stairs with her weary body. She just got back from school and was welcome with this kind of news.

*Sigh*

**************************************

The girl lay unconscious in the bed, which was four meters wide, in the quiet room, lit by a soft glow.

"What is that smell?" Whiggling its tail wildly as though he had just breathed in a breath of fresh air, Ramiel asked himself in his mind.

Raven stopped to take a sniff, and all he could smell was the human girl's potent perfume.

He gives his Wolfie a shake of his head.

"I do not smell anything." He took a deep breath, but nothing came out. What was wrong with his dumb wolf?

"I feel excited..." Ramiel was purring loudly in his brain and was unable to concentrate on his target.

"Well... I don't. So shut your fucking mouth!" He growled lowly.

He had no idea what was going on with his inner wolf. Ramiel would typically become enraged and violent at the smell of a human, but in this instance, he was wagging his tail at the girl. What caused the abrupt shift? He thought Ramiel would jump on this filthy thing and eat her alive, but instead, he was gleefully purring to himself like he had just met his soul mate.

He approached the bed gingerly. His nostrils wafted with a sweet, addictive scent that surprised him.

Raven took another whiff of the air.He shuts his eyes for a moment to enjoy the pleasant scent, and he feels a smile tug at the corner of his mouth. She smelled like heaven, and now he knew why his wolf was happy.

"Sexy! Sexy! Sexy!" Ramiel was circling around his head, making it very hard for him to concentrate.

"You better shut the fuck up, or I will kill her!" Raven snarled at his teasing wolf.

Ramiel was aware that he was only kidding, but he did not want to run the risk of losing his newfound friend to this callous individual.

"All right..." Mumbling some words he could not hear, Ramiel sat in the corner of his mind.

His breath caught in his throat as his gaze slowly returned to her face. The sight of the stunning girl with blonde hair on the bed made him freeze. Her aura, like her scent, was potent and strong. He could not smell the wolf, but she exuded the aura of an Alpha. He truly was not prepared for the human girl to be so stunning—she was just a human. She appeared more exquisite than the fairies he had seen in Alexander's cartoon versions of fairy tales. Spread out like seaweed creating a halo in the water, her long blonde hair was strewn all over the bright red sheets, with the tips resting on the white pillows. The pale, beautiful light cast on Ashira's exquisite and stunning face revealed her beauty. Black as the night, her lashes were long and thick, encroaching on her eyes.

With the exception of Chloe, he was usually the same around women, and not even those breathtakingly beautiful women who looked like heavenly cupcakes could change his feelings.

But at this precise moment, her beauty was striking and captivating, akin to a phoenix flower blooming in the desert. Her small but full lips glistened from the lip gloss she applied, and her oval fair face looked perfectly made up as though she had just returned from an outing. Her eyes were tightly shut, her face was pale and plump, and her nose was small and straight. As it was, she was completely unconscious.

"Is she our mate?" Squeaking like she was his other half, Ramiel asked in high hopes.

The rhetorical question caused Raven to shake his head. Who else but his stupid Wolfie would ask that question?

Raven scoffed, "If she is, we will know." "And I have told you we do not have a mate!"

He felt the anguish of his inner wolf as well as its despair.

"Do not worry, I swear we will find her if we have one." He gave his assurance, and his inner wolf reluctantly gave in.

The way she was positioned on the bed caused her dress to slightly roll up, exposing a peek of her perfect, white laps. Her cheeks had a hazy layer of crimson that gave the impression that she was blushing, and her pink lips were moist. Returning his attention to her eyes, he pondered over their appearance. Perhaps lustful honey or eyes the color of chocolate that could make any man fall head over heels.

Her aroma was a cross between strawberry and vanilla. After closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Raven opened them in response to Ramiel's startle. My mouth fell open at his request as I heard him talking in my thoughts.

"Ramiel!" I chastised the wolf within. "She is not ours!"

He expected me to claim her....Mark her forever as mine.

"Do you intend to cheat on our future mate?" I enquired to justify my reprimands.

He dismissed me with a shrug and appeared somewhat composed, but his applause remained audible.

"Raven..." Simon called out in my head. "Her brothers arrived!"

Things are getting juicy! I smirked cynically at the update.
