Chapter 6 - Meeting a God [Final]

"Ten." He started counting slowly.

'Holy shit, he's leaving me with no choice here, damn it'

As I complained, I put my mind to work, considering the best choices I could make.

"Nine."

'Think! Think asshole!'

Boiling my already speed-limited brain, I managed to think of something.

'I'm going to a magical world, so there are a lot of unrealistic things that can be asked for, but there's one thing that can't be missing at all...'

'Talent. No matter what happens or where I go, if I don't have talent in this crazy world I'm going to, I'll be nothing. Even more so in a magical world, I need talent in mana manipulation, it will certainly save me a lot of trouble.

"Eight."

My mind was boiling and I was thinking of lots of crazy things that would make me Absurdly Strong, but the god wouldn't accept these things at all. I had to limit my ideas a lot to make them more acceptable.

"Seven."

As I struggled to think curiously, a message arrived silently in my mind.

"Ask for your memories too, I'll explain why later." It was simple and crude, but seemed to contain some hidden meaning.

"Six."

After much thought, I decided to accept the purple energy's suggestion. I owed it to whatever it was, so let's see how it goes.

"You have two seconds before you speak." God's voice sounded, but I didn't rush, I already had something in mind that I wanted.

"Zero. Now speak." He announced the end of my time.

Taking a deep breath, I made my choices: "I want an exceptional talent in mana manipulation, the memories of my previous life and... A companion, preferably one that only I can see and who can help me with mana."

Looking at me briefly, the god seemed curious and couldn't help but confirm my choice: "I understand the other two, but there's nothing special about your memories, are you sure you want them?"

"Yes. I've thought about it a lot and I think it would be good to have them back." I tried to sound as decisive as possible when I spoke.

"All right, then. Your requests will be granted as soon as you reach Ukrat, now go. Get out of my sight." As he finished his words, he snapped his fingers.

That snap immediately caused my vision to blur and blur, it felt like I was going to faint at any moment.

"Before you leave, I have something to tell you." His voice reached my ears, laden with a hint of sadism and cruelty.

"As punishment for your previous words, I have cast a three-level curse of misfortune on you. It will be activated at any time in your life and at random levels, so don't be alarmed if everything starts to go wrong for you, Heh."

'Damn it, you bastard, you wouldn't dare do that, would you? Just wait, if what you said is true, when I ascend I'll clear it up. I couldn't speak, my mouth was firmly closed by something, so I could only curse in my mind.

"It's not all bad news. It wouldn't be good if you died from suffering the effects of the curse repeatedly, so there will be a minimum of four days before it can be activated again. Anyway, I think you'll be fine... Maybe."

"Well, that's all, have a good stay in Ukrat, Jason. Don't die too quickly, this time it really will be the end of you."

"Enjoy!"

After he'd finished all his nonsense, my vision began to dim, forcing me to pass out.

But I couldn't leave just yet, not before forcing my words out of my mouth as he finished his bullshit speech and cursing him.

"I hope you die for these 'little inconveniences', Demon Bastard."

"What?!" I could have sworn I saw on his blank face an expression of extreme confusion, he seemed to be shouting in his mind: "Were you awake?!"

Hahahaha, what a great "God" ein.

'Just wait Little Demon, if what you said about the curse is true... You'd better hope I don't ascend to a god.

My vision finally darkened and I fell into a comfortable sleep while carrying with me a mixture of anticipation and fear for what awaited me when I woke up.
