As dawn broke over the horizon, casting the Bahariya Oasis in hues of soft gold, Lucius and Lyxor arrived at their final destination.
The towering palm trees and glistening pools of water were breathtaking but the duo were not careless.
"Can you feel it?" Lyxor asked, his voice deep and cold.
"Of course, it makes my skin crawl." Lucius shuddered.
He had come in contact with energy in numerous forms, but none has managed to leave him uncomfortable.
"Is there something wrong?" Lyxor asked, sensing the discomfort Lucius felt.
"This energy is different. I can't absorb anything related to the omen of the gods ability, however I can absorb this. It just feels bad, like taking spoiled milk." Lucius explained.
"Okay then," Lyxor said, his gaze fixated on the golden sands and crumbling tomb entrances in the distance. "The final trial."
"A trial for others, but for us, it's a feast." Lucius said, standing beside him, smirking.
