At the same moment, in a completely unrelated alley. Because of what had just happened, the boys who had confronted Minori were heated. They wish they could retaliate but none of them are ninjas or can harness chakra, it seemed impossible. It's at that point that a voice is heard.

"I sense it," a somewhat mechanical voice relates.

"Your negative emotions. Your desire to retaliate against oppressors. What would you think if I said I had the means to your end?" No matter what they do, they can't determine where the voices are coming from. They then notice a box lying nearby.

"Everything you need is in there," the voice assures them. When they open it, everything goes black.

A few minutes passed, and Hinata, the triplets' mother, reached the school for the entrance ceremony. She notices Naruto and asks if Boruto and the girls have arrived yet. But thus far, they haven't.

In the meantime, the siblings run out of the last place they had to buy things from. Boruto assisted his sister with her errands to speed things up, but they were still cutting it close.

Making it to the train, this time Boruto riding on the inside. They stop, regaining their breath before proceeding to take a seat. The cart seems noticeably empty, and Boruto notes a peculiar atmosphere throughout the interior. Looking up, he observes what appears to be two cloaked figures entirely covered in a dark aura.

"Brother. Your eye, what's wrong with it?" Himawari inquires. Boruto snaps out of his daze. While he didn't understand what she meant, he gestured towards the figures to show what he was paying attention to. Minori sees them and wants to know what it is they want.

Saying nothing, their actions speak of their intentions. They proceed to attack with a water-based Jutsu.

The siblings move out of the way but lose the items they were sent out to buy. Getting ready to defend themselves, they're startled by the sound of an opening door from behind them.

Another cloaked figure appears from the conductor's room as the train begins to move seconds later. Now they're surrounded from both sides. Boruto calls them out on their assault. They, in return, counter by individually letting out a different elemental Jutsu—water and lightning from one direction and fire style from the person in the conductor's room.

"Earth style, mud wall!!" Minori quickly calls out, and two walls spring up on both sides.

"When did you learn this Jutsu?" Boruto solicits, leaning on one of the walls she made. "Dad's friend taught me. But there's no time to talk. Their Jutsu are strong. I just brought out the walls, and they're practically broken," she gives voice to while struggling. Minori unleashes the Jutsu again, bringing out more layers to the wall.

"This isn't good. Their attacks keep fracturing the walls too quickly. I can't move from this spot while producing a new one."

As their attack carries on, one of them ultimately breaks word. For what they can make out due to his robotic voice, they've set up the train to head towards the Ninja Academy, where the entrance ceremony is about to start. No one there would see this coming in time to stop it.

They're shocked to overhear this, knowing that the rails near the academy aren't finished yet. Suggesting they must conclude this quickly to put a stop to the train.

"Boruto, listen carefully," Minori calls out. "They have us trapped. We're going to have to make a move and quick," she tells him.

"How? If we even try something I'm sure they'll be ready to strike the minute they see us," he tells her, covering his face from the wall's debris.

"We're going to give you an opening. When we do, quickly make shadow clones, and hopefully, one can make it into the conductor's room and derail the train," Minori briefs him. On the other hand, he thinks she's being too hasty but knows too well that they don't have many options.

Minori, who pauses every here and then to make another wall, then turns to Himawari and mentions that she'll need her help breaking down the walls to pieces.

"Use your Byakugan like that one time you knocked out Dad. Detect a weakness in the walls and shatter them. It should be easier since they've done most of the work breaking them down," Minori explains.

"I don't think I can. Back then, that was unintentional," Himawari answers.

"Maybe, but we need you now. I know you're frightened, not because of what's happening but because you're letting yourself and us down. But that won't happen. We're your family, and we'll stick by you no matter what. Believe it and in yourself."

Himawari looks over at her siblings. Trying so hard to keep her tears at bay, and they perceive that. But she can tell merely by the look on their faces. Even now, their confidence in her doesn't waver.

Minori starts wondering if there could be another way just in case she's put too much faith in her sister. After all, Boruto and Hima haven't even begun their ninja training yet.

"Locked on."

Minori looks over, noticing Himawari's veins have swelled and her pupils have turned entirely white. A look that Boruto recognizes all too well.

He hovers over Minori, covering her and his face. Himawari looks at the wall and taps it three times softly with her palms. Just seconds later, they start to crumble.

Boruto quickly takes the opportunity to jump on Hima. Giving Minori the chance to unleash a wind-style Jutsu that sends the rubble flying toward the hidden figures. As it strikes them, Boruto finds an opening to make clones and jump the cloaked figures while his real body rushes into the conductor's room. Being met with another shrouded person.

"There was a fourth one. But why was this one in here the whole time?" Boruto wonders.

The mysterious person lets go of a lever, disappearing into the shadows; Boruto grows confused about why he didn't just confront him. He tries to mess around with the controls but notices the brakes are cracked. Boruto had hoped things would've been more manageable. Realizing there's no way to stop the train, maybe he can control what it hits.

One more thing needs to be done. He heads back to his sisters, where all the hooded figures have disappeared, creating two clones, the maximum he can do now. While Minori lies on the ground, exhausted from exerting so much chakra, Himawari stands over her, ensuring everything is okay.

Minori and Himawari look over at their brother with concern as Boruto's clones grab each girl.

"What are you doing?" Minori demands to know.

"I'm only doing what's expected of me," he replies.

Minori tries, struggling out of the hold to no avail. Himawari pleads with him not to go through with it.

"Hey! Look after mom and Himawari for me, okay?" he tells Minori. "Maybe even the old man, too."

Boruto's clone jumps out with the girls in hand as he changes his attention towards the train and operates the lever to accelerate even more. He hopes the increase in speed will permit it to leap right past the academy, straight into the stone faces.

Boruto had planned to jump off with his sisters. But he had noticed earlier that they had tampered with the lever, so it wouldn't stay in place without someone holding on. So that's why one of them stayed in the conductor's room instead of joining the others.

Soon, the back carts started derailing and flying off due to the immense speed. Boruto preps himself.

"I guess staying on track isn't for me," He declares.

The train approaches the end of the tracks, hitting and going past the barrier and straight onto the ground. In the meantime, the entrance ceremony had already started. As they announce the new students, Boruto's name comes up, with no response.

Naruto and Hinata seem worried, not just about him but also about the girls who haven't gotten there yet. Shikadai doesn't like it but isn't as surprised.

That's when a sound starts to capture everyone's attention from above. They all look towards the air, and the last remaining train cart goes flying off the hill toward the 7th Hokage's stone face.

Naruto instantly has Iruka and Shino evacuate the students from the courtyard. As it crashes, Shikamaru and every other teacher rapidly clear off any debris that comes down. Konahamaru jumps over to check out the probable threat. Within, he finds Boruto, who was able to avoid being badly hurt by binding himself to a pole using his jacket.

"Hey, big bro Konahamaru. Can you let the teacher know I'm present?" he states.

Everyone is given the okay signal, and Konahamaru instructs Boruto on his new title as Sensei. As he must refer to him from now on. That is, if he even gets into the academy after performing this stunt.

Shortly afterward. The extraction of the train has gotten underway. Minori takes the opportunity to report to her father and Shikamaru what had happened and how things turned out the way they did.

They're both concerned, seeing as these obscure people could be anyone. Naruto and Shikamaru both take a moment to look at each other. No one grasps what to make of this until a letter arrives for the Hokage the next day.

"What does it say?" Shikamaru questions.

Naruto reads it outloud.

I'm only one color, but not one size.

Stuck at the bottom, yet I easily fly.

Present in the sun, but not in the rain.

Doing no harm and feeling no pain.

"Great, riddles. This is more Sasuke's alley than mine," Naruto admits.

"It's a shadow." Shikamaru answers.

"It stays one color and can alter sizes. It's either on the ground or up high depending on your location. When the sun is out, you can sight it, as it hangs about doing no harm nor pain."

"Naturally, you'd get a riddle about shadows," Naruto retorts.

Shikamaru ignores his response as he walks over to the window. "Whoever this person is, it seems they want to play games with us. The most distressing thing is. It seems they've already infiltrated the village."
