To be honest Jean would have preferred not to tell anyone about her trip to Country N but she knew she won't get to see a doctor on time without a convincing story. As expected he pulled out his phone when he heard the explanation.
Twenty minutes later James stepped in Jaden's office but he was surprised when he found it empty.
"Yoo Grey where are you?"
Then he happened to see the lounge door open, "Shit! Bro, you brought this guy in here?"
"Cut the crap."
He made a silent gesture and moved towards the bed, Jean was dazed all this time. She had to leave in 15 minutes will she make it?
"Hey Fella, close your eyes and concentrate. Tell me when you feel any pain."
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes without saying anything. All her senses were heightened to the extent that she could hear James's heartbeat.
James picked up a sharp needle and pierced her knee a little but after a whole minute there was only silence. Even Jaden who was standing at the door was surprised. Had she lost control of her legs.
"Why aren't I feeling anything?"
Jean found the silence suffocating, she had a flight to catch any minute right now counts. James shook his head before piercing the leg, "Ouch!"
This time the reaction was as expected. It could be seen that the pain receptors on one leg were working.
"Open your eyes, I can only tell you that one leg will be able to work in a few minutes but unfortunately the other one..."
Jean felt like a boulder was pressing on her chest. She tried suppressing the panic in her heart and swallow her tears. " You mean... my leg is paralyzed?"
She couldn't help but choke slightly, but she couldn't let her tears fall again.
"I'm not weak."
She told herself but they could see that she was breaking down. She suddenly found herself in a warm hug. Although she was taken aback, she still needed this to sort out her emotions.
Jaden had pulled her into a hug.
She hugged him back and let herself cry out freely, anyway she cried the first time and he saw it. But she couldn't let James see her tears.
"James could you please go out for a second."
James who was still in a daze raised his finger in surprise, two men hugging and the other one was his bestfriend who had been single for decades. No one knew his situation more than him.
"Get out."
He stepped out still in a daze, although he was teasing Fella the other day he didn't expect it to be real. What he didn't know was even the concerned parties were clueless about their situation.
It took two minutes before Jean raised her head and looked at Grey a little embarrassed but it was not time for such nonsense she had more important things to do than coax and explain what she herself does not understand.
"I can still catch up the plane, can you call him. I can still use one leg."
Jaden threw a wet wipe at her but Jean just dubbed the corner of her eyes, she knew if she were to wipe her face well then her makeup will rub off revealing Jean's face.
"James come in."
Its not like Jaden didn't notice the makeup on her face but he assumed he was gay so it was normal for him to apply.
"Can you treat this one leg for me then let me go first then I will look for you when I'm back for treatment."
They were both surprised, she was willing to use one leg for now. James had no option but to start dealing with his leg but he raised his eyes and looked at Jaden the moment he lifted the trouser.
Jaden caught the strangeness, "Fella close your eyes and increase your concentration."
He looked at the leg, no single hair? Was this even a man's leg? Was it because of the virus. They assumed a glaring possibility that she could be crossdressing but they naturally couldn't think of that easily.
"Its done."
Jean tried moving her legs only to feel one leg moving that was better.
"Thanks, I will deal with the bill after I come back. How many minutes to 12 noon?"
It then dawned on them that they also had to reach the airport in 15 minutes and board a flight, could it be that she was also on the noon flight to Country N.
At the airport gates, Carlos was almost crying. His boss was not picking up his phone and it was only few minutes before the boarding gates were closed.
"15 minutes, I guess we will have to rush through the traffic like hell."
Jaden simply picked up Jean and dashed for the door. James closed the office as he followed behind.
Everyone in the office lobby was surprised to see two men running and one seemed like their CEO who was carrying someone else. They didn't manage to get a glimpse of his face considering Jaden's speed.
Still after breaking all the traffic protocols and arriving at the airport, they just caught a glimpse of an airplane taking off. Letting out a sigh, Jaden rolled down the window only to see a dejected Carlos standing there.
"Boss, the next flight to Country is at Seven in the evening."
Of course that was not an option for them. They had to go to Country N right now to carry out their duties. What they didn't know was that the main characters were sitting together and had missed a flight.
"I think I have an option."
Everyone turned their eyes towards Fella. They all knew there was no other option apart from military option which required high military personnel to use it during emergencies.
Of course even though Jaden would have tried and used his other identities but in such a situation it would delay.
"You... What do you mean?"
Carlos was aware of his boss abilities and if he couldn't pull off such a feat then how could Fella do it?
"Military, we will use the military plane. Don't ask me anything."
They knew it won't do anything good to ask anyway so they respected her decision and kept quiet.
"Give me my phone."
It didn't long for her call to be answered.
"Sergeant Lincoln at your service boss."
The respectful voice was heard in the car.
"I need a plane to country N in 10 minutes time."
"Yes sir, how many on board?"
"4"
"On it sir."
Jaden just raised his eyebrow before looking down, in deed it would have taken him at least 30 minutes this was an impressive feat.
He looked at Fella with a little awe, when Jean met that gaze that no longer had contempt. Her heart skipped a bit but she still flared her nose proudly without knowing. He was finally respecting her.
The quite atmosphere was broken by a chuckle.
Everyone looked at Grey in wonder why was this ice block even laughing?
Jean thought he was mocking her she snorted and looked away.
"Hey..."
His words were cut off by a loud rumble of helicopter landing with bold words printed on it.
SCORPION ELITE MILITARY DEPARTMENT.
They knew it was their turn to board the plane and they couldn't delay because other planes had to land and take off. In fact to stop other planes for them was already something big.
Although Jean had snorted at Grey, she looked at him at this point. How would they reach the plane if he didn't carry her. Jaden smiled when he met her eyes, I guess this gay must be enjoying this service so much.
People at the airport could be seen looking at the bold words on the helicopter with awe, this was their country's pride.
A few minutes later, vague announcement could be heard as it took off.
Clear to take off.
Proceed.
When they took their seats, Jaden moved back with Carlos to work on something while James became interested in this unique patient.
"Fella, why don't you tell me how this happened. That ice block just said one word paralyzed as if he is a doctor himself."
Jean knew, he may be able to find a reason and even heal her before they landed which would be great. She told him everything that happened before she passed out.
"I don't even understand, the other day I passed out and yet today I also passed out and I seem to hear a scary voice in my head but I have never had mental illness before."
She was taken aback when she saw his eyes lighting up.
"Fella go to the washrooms and pee then come back for treatment."
"Really?"
Jean who thought it was a must for her to pee before treatment of course stood up excitedly with one leg and a crutch to go.
She knew it would be difficult but she didn't expect it to be so difficult. On that note could she really manage to do what she wanted in Country N.
This was a bloody risk.
She opened the washroom door and entered.
Sweat was glistening on her forehead as she tried to open the belt to her trouser.
"Jeez, was I the one who bought this belt?"
At that moment, James walked towards Jaden and whispered something into his ears. Then Jaden stood up after a moment of contemplation.
James was betting on his own theories, hope I'm not wrong.
Jaden neared the washroom and heard a groan from inside, he pushed the door open reflexively to help Fella. They were both men anyway but Jean who had finally succeeded in opening the belt and was pulling off her pants froze.
She felt blood causing through her brain before it went straight to her paralyzed leg then she fell down.
"Why are hiding? Let me help you up."
"Get out!!!!!"
Jean almost let out her gender, it wasn't the right time for her true identity to be revealed anyway.
Jaden froze at the sudden roar but when he saw the red ears, he laughed and stepped out.
"I forgot he is gay and minds."
Jean who had a narrow escape quickly stood up. It was after she peed that she noticed she could move both of her legs.
Was it a miracle? But that was not possible because she didn't even pray.
James and Jaden stood near their seats as they waited for her.
They had different reactions when they saw her step out walking, James was excited about his medical analysis. In deed it was her momentary fear that caused her body to react that way but that means she encountered something that either seems familiar to Jaden or he was the one.
He shook his head at that, because he could tell that Jaden was clueless about Jean and they only met recently.
Jaden had furrowed eyebrows as he tried to decipher why Jean would fear him to the extent of getting paralyzed.
On the other hand Jean was embarrassed at her reaction in the washroom.
"I'm sorry for shouting at you."
Jaden nodded absentmindedly before he suddenly became alert, we are landing in a few minutes.
With that the relaxed atmosphere vanished.
