ARLIE'S POV
I decided to play along, since I was curious about Gift's motives. "Rumors, huh? I've heard Gossips too. But I thought they were just stories."
Gift's eyes sparkled with interest. "Oh, I'm sure they are. But it's always fascinating to explore the possibilities. Do you think Professor Thane would know anything?"
I shrugged, pretending to be nonchalant. "Maybe, who knows?. He's always been tight about the school's secrets."
Gift nodded, and her gaze drifted to the window. " You could ask him sometime. Maybe he'll share some insight."
As we chatted, I carefully observed Gift's body language, like Celeste taught me to.
Her posture seemed relaxed, but her eyes looked very tensed.
Suddenly, Gift stood up, still wearing her big smile, I wondered if her jaws hurt from smiling so much. "I should get going, Arlie. It's late."
I walked her to the door, feeling a mix of emotions. "Thanks for visiting, Gift. It's been too long."
Gift hugged me tightly. "I'll come back soon. We'll catch up more, oh and my dorm room isn't so far from yours, I was transferred there recently, it's just at the far end of the hall 12b visit anytime."
As she left, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Gift was hiding something, I wondered what she was doing by my cupboards when I entered the Room, I mean she would've been waiting on the bed if she truly came to visit me, or she could've knocked and left if I wasn't in, like a normal person.
I rushed to the cupboards and opened them to see that all the papers there had been slightly ruffled, she was looking for something, but what?
This makes me wonder how many times she had sneaked into my room without my notice, I was just lucky to catch her today.
I always secure my room with magic before I leave, I wonder how she was able to break in without a trace.
She's so small and I'm so confused
I decided to investigate further the next morning, something was going on and I needed to find out what.
