Chapter 71 - Chapter 4 Preparation

Uther sat before his silver armor while looking at the dents on it to recall his past. Each of these dents was made by infamous men around the continent and he didn't remove them to honor them and himself.

" I swore I wouldn't wear it unless it is for my people. Who would have thought I would wear it against my father?"

The armor itself was made from the finest metal of the Far East while it was created by the finest blacksmith in the West. Unlike typical chainmail and normal armor, his armor covered his whole and not hinder his movements in the battle despite being steel cast. The mixture of silver made it more flexible and lighter than steel and he deliberately made the armor the protect his vitals by reinforcing the key areas.

" We all have choices to make, husband."

Igraine handed his banner to him with his red cape while Uther remained silent after seeing the dragon on his cape. The once light cape was extremely heavy on his hands, heavier than the steel itself. Nevertheless, he took his cape without hesitation for its symbol of his chivalry and his belief.

" I will be back home and I want some honey garlic bread with warm milk."

Igraine smiled at his words while going to the kitchen to prepare for his victory because he never lost in his life. He was the brightest and most honored knight in her mind, bringing nothing but glory and warmness to his home.

" Then I will be waiting my lord."

Meanwhile in other area

The Vikings were tightening their armor and wearing their weapons for the battle. Most of the veteran Vikings were instructing younglings to get ready by teaching them how to wear armor and where the put their rations.

" Dan, are you afraid of this battle? I am shaking with nervousness."

Halfdan glared sheepishly at his two friends who wore simple leather armor that had been reinforced with steel in vital areas. Furthermore, they were carrying big weapons on their backs which caught normal people's attention because a normal person would struggle to lift this thing much less hold them as they did.

" What are you, kids? We have been through a lot since our young age. This time doesn't differ from the past. We will go to the castle, take it, and leave it."

Harold and Arne nodded at his words but they felt they would become a burden to everyone because they were too big. There were no horses to carry them and they had to be in the carriage while holding their weapons.

" What are you worried about, son? Look at you. They will piss in their pants when they look at that huge axe."

The Vikings laughed at Bo's words while Arne's face darkened when he saw them. The Vikings were laughing like it was indeed true since he was considered a giant even among them.

Furthermore, he wasn't lean or skinny, he was bulky and muscular like a bear and he was even more hairy than his father who was known to be hairy.

" Shut your horses, we have to leave before the foot soldiers leave. I don't want to hear nagging from Uther."

Magnus's veins bulged when he saw his carefree men who were talking like it was a normal thing in the morning. As a leader he was worried about their fitness, knowing they hadn't battled in years like in the past and lost some touch but after seeing their carefree manner, he wanted to teach them a lesson.

" Why are you angry, husband? Let them have fun. Besides, you were like this in the past."

Magnus groaned at her words, but didn't deny it completely since it was the truth. However, after losing his arm, he became a more serious and thinking type of person.

" Now listen to me. The castle itself isn't big. But it is heavily guarded by 200 men and 50 of them are archers which means they will shower us with arrows. Thus, half of you will distract them at the southern gate while half of us enter the castle in camouflage prior to the battle. We will take down the gates to you and the knights, so you must distract them fully."

Magnus explained the plan to the Vikings who were acting like goofballs a minute ago.
