Chapter 65 - Volume Epilogue Isles of the far land

The cracking sound of dry wood echoed in the cave while Magnus threw the wood that he gathered in the day to the fire. His cold eyes were filled with thoughts of survival in this foreign land even if it meant to be another war.

" Father, are you thinking about war? We can't lose another man in this land. Instead, let me talk to them like a civilized person. Even if I am a child, I will succeed with my mother."

Freyja nodded at his words while looking at her husband with expectations. She knew Halfdan was a clever boy and they didn't need to shed another blood just because they needed land for survival.

" Huu, when the next sun rises, we will move to the town where we saw the people. Remember, take your weapons in case of the worst. No man doesn't want another man to touch their things."

Hearing his words made the Vikings go silent but their eyes were burning with passion. This foreign land was a chance to raise of their people and they wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice their lives for their families.

The Vikings gulped the water in their flasks, eating the meat until there was nothing left in front of them because a good eater would never lose in the battle whether it was a physical or mental fight.

The next morning came quietly like always to the people of Kent. The people greeted each other like usual while doing their labor for their living. Some sold their products while some served others to survive like cleaning or singing.

However, one thing was sure and that was their new neighbor was coming to them. Uther was chopping the woods outside his house like usual while wiping his sweat. His firmly developed body was far superior to any man in this land and no one would be able to tell him that he was a noble because he didn't show any demeanor like them.

Yet, he was a person with extreme hygiene, so his teeth were white as pearls and his hair lacked any ounce of dirt, unlike pheasants. His clothes were without wrinkles and smelled like flowers since he liked washing them with his family.

" Lord, why don't you rest today? The nobles will laugh at you when they will see you again during the convention of the nation. They will say you are a lowborn."

Kent laughed at his wife's words, stroking her head with a tender gaze. He was never bothered by those people anyway. Maybe some could call him a fool for a noble but he didn't care about his title.

As long as his people and his family lived happily in this land, he was willing to shoulder those crude bastards' words. After a lake wouldn't move when one throws a rock in it.

" Igraine, my love. I don't care about their words. If my people are happy, I am happy. I don't seek fame and glory. I am happy with my life."

He sat on the log while drinking cold water from the bucket. He gently looked at her bulging belly, placing his head on her belly to listen to his child.

" Do you think it is a boy?"

Uther laughed at her words, shaking his head with a bright smile because he knew this would be a girl. His instincts were telling him that and he was never wrong.

" You are so mean, my lord. If we have 2 sons, you can play with them all day. Maybe the youngest would inherit your mantle because Arthur is refusing it, right?"

Uther chuckled at her remark, and didn't deny her words but he believed it would be a girl.

However, just at this lovely moment, a horse-riding man approached them with a pale face. He quickly stopped the horse in front of them, bringing a cloud of dust that made him frown.

" Lord, it is a bad news. A few tens of warriors are heading toward our town. All of them are equipped and they are seemed to be seasoned warriors."

Uther's face fell when he heard his words, quickly changing his direction to his home. He was ready to fight against any person for his people.
