Chapter 26 - Region Ionia

Ionia is a region composed of several allied provinces, situated on a vast archipelago surrounded by turbulent seas. This magical land is often referred to as the First Lands. Ionian culture is characterized by a pursuit of balance in all things, and the boundary between the material world and the spirit realm is blurred here—especially noticeable in the forests and mountains.

Ionia is a place where the spiritual and the material intertwine. The locals seek balance in all aspects of life, adhering to a philosophy of harmony and respect for all living things. In the forests and mountains of Ionia, magic is so potent that the line between reality and the spirit world becomes nearly imperceptible.

Ionia consists of many separate regions, each with its own rules and laws. Despite this, all the regions are united in an alliance. The primary sources of governance are the temples that worship the Spirit of Ionia. Karma, the embodiment of this spirit, chooses a new human form once every few centuries to guide and lead the people.

For centuries, Ionians lived in abundance and prosperity, despite the willful magic and fierce creatures. Warrior monasteries, militia groups, and the Ionian land itself protected them from all evil. Ionia is renowned for its masters of martial arts and spiritual warriors.

Magical creatures and spirits: Ionia is home to numerous magical beings. Spirits can be as peaceful as household guardians, ensuring comfort and tranquility, or as dangerous as monstrous entities that haunt the skies. Everything in Ionia is alive and can develop its own thoughts. Spirits, like children, can become angry if offended.

The animals inhabiting this territory are infused with a magical aura. They possess incredible beauty and leave a stunning impression.

Despite the general reverence for the Spirit of Ionia and Karma, the main military force and law are represented by the Kinkou Order. This order maintains the balance between the spiritual and physical worlds and plays a key role in governing the Ionian lands.
