There was approximately 20 meters of distance between Mir and Lemi. According to Mir's research on Lemi's Grade-1 mutation, Predator Pupils, its range of influence was about 15 meters at most.
Predator Pupils had only one basic feature when activated. The mutant could freeze his opponent by meeting his gaze. This freezing was caused by a harmless shock received in the brain of the opponent upon seeing the other person's eyes. The effect lasted for any period between one and five seconds, depending on how strong the victim's neural network was.
Mir's brain had suffered through plenty of external influence since the last month. But he didn't think those experiences had strengthened his neural network. It couldn't be so easy. So he needed to ensure that a distance of about 20 meters was always being maintained while he met his opponent's eyes boldly.
