When Father Raquer met them at the entrance hall of the station, he appeared somewhat distracted, his gaze distant and footing unsteady. Someone from afar might have mistaken him for a drunkard upon seeing how many people he bumped into while leading them out of the station, or how many times he had to be tugged back by his robes to be drawn into a conversation.
Mir and Murray were pretty much alienated in the group of trainee deacons, and they chose to walk behind everyone. So they couldn't really tell what was going on with Father Raquer's strange behavior. Even those who had tried to speak to him had been left puzzled by his dismissive replies.
