Murray's bold claim had all of them at the edge of their seats. Mir was completely clueless about what he was going to say, but he did his best to hide any sort of surprise from his face.

Archbishop Karquen leaned over and said, "Coincidences like that don't hold up under scrutiny, young man. Take my advice on this. Don't lie."

"I'm not lying." Murray stood up from the chair. "As for the proof, it's not a made-up story. We actually saw this situation coming. We knew that whoever made Emil scheme against me would ensure that any lacuna in my defence would be discovered and used against me. So my brother actually sold the mutation package to a mysterious visitor last night for a good price!"
