The drama next morning went on for hours. Nobody managed to finish their breakfasts. There were a couple of cracks on the dining room table, and a third crack was audible in their mother's voice. Murin shut herself inside her bedroom after storming away with red eyes, just as Mir had predicted. Their mother pretended to busy herself in the kitchen to hide the melancholy expression on her weary face.
The outcome of the argument was simple. Murin would be allowed to eat the rest of the processed food in the Mountain-Hand mutation package. But she would not be allowed to awaken the mutant ability, given the reasoning that even possessing the relevant energy refinement technique wasn't enough to awaken the mutation on one's own, especially not the first mutation.
