Despite hearing what seemed to be a desperate warning to anyone nearby, Murray approached closer to the source of the voice. A silhouette on the road became distinct soon, crumpled on the ground, cloaked under a particularly dense mass of mist.
"Father Raquer? Is that you?"
Murray's voice sounded louder than it really was on this silent road. It was a totally unnecessary question to ask in such a situation, almost foolish, if one didn't realize the intention behind the question, which was to draw the attention of any listener around to himself and himself only. Not only would he gain their attention, he'd also gain their disdain for the stupid behavior.
"It's a trap! Save- save-...."
It really was Father Raquer's voice, and it seemed like whatever had happened to him was pretty serious. His garbled words were becoming almost unintelligible and too low in volume to decipher.
