Mir's lonesome figure walked through one of the less used gates, entering the campus quietly. He had been expecting some kind of an unsavory welcome here. But the campus seemed pretty normal as he walked across the cobblestoned roads. Students were busy running between classes, the clerks carried stacks of documents from building to building, lecture halls were occupied...
Feeling a little relieved and disappointed at the same time, Mir made his way over to the corner of the campus where the combat arena was situated.
Around this time, the gallery was almost always deserted. But when Mir's footsteps fell on the entryway between columns of seats, a sudden thunderous eruption of noise nearly deafened him. Cheers, hoots, and boos came from virtually every direction, accompanied by the flashes and glare of every source of light in the arena.
