Chereads / Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL) / Chapter 251 - Chapter 251 The Purpose of the Horcrux

Chapter 251 - Chapter 251 The Purpose of the Horcrux

The room is huge.

It was said to be a mountain of garbage, but it was made up of garbage mountains piled together to form a collective mountain.

Snape and Dumbledore walked down the small path between the two mountains of garbage ... It was hard to imagine that Hogwarts had so much garbage piled together.

"How did this get here?" Snape looked around.

Legend had it that the Room of Requirement could fulfil any need. From the information he had got from Andy, the Room of Requirement did possess such an ability as well.

If it was just a temporary Transfiguration ...

But all this junk is real, and they can be taken out.

"That's the wonder of magic."

Dumbledore said, "Even though I've been studying it for over a hundred years, I can't glimpse all the mysteries of magic."

After a pause, Dumbledore continued, "I've just travelled farther than any wizard alive, but there is still a very long way to go to the end. Perhaps ... no one has ever been able to walk to that end, either."

Snape stopped talking.

The end of magic was, indeed, a distant distance that could not even be seen.

After circling around the room, Dumbledore said in a calm tone, "If that dark magic item was really kept here, then it has most likely been taken by someone."

"Who do you think?" Snape asked.

Snape thought of Andy, but he didn't think Andy would be that foolhardy. One of Voldemort's Horcruxes would never faze that annoying prick, Andy.

Dumbledore was silent for a moment.

The diary is a Horcrux made by Voldemort in his fifth year.

But this one in the Room of Requirement was definitely a Horcrux made by Voldemort when he was an adult, and it had an even stronger power.

With the young wizard's ability, he would definitely not be able to resist Voldemort's bewitchment.

Of course, there was currently no evidence to prove this.

But if this is true ...

He worried that Hogwarts wouldn't be peaceful for the next few days.

"Severus, it looks like we're going to have to step up our efforts in protecting the young wizards," Dumbledore said.

This old man...!

Snape had lamented more than once in recent times that Dumbledore didn't seem to be as reliable as Andy Collins.

Andy was smart and frighteningly perceptive.

He had found the location of the Room of Requirement ... Snape even suspected that Andy could even find the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets if he wanted to.

A few months ago, during the summer break, Andy had noticed Dumbledore's plan.

After school started, Andy also perceived his own plans.

He even managed to investigate the Horcruxes!

Take this attack, for example, Andy's first thought was to think about the Room of Requirement.

Originally, Andy's strength was a little bit worse.

Well, it was a lot worse.

But Andy improved the Patronus Charm.

Snape had seen how that Patronus Charm worked, and he had also seen the photo - a photo (video) of Andy using the Patronus Charm against someone else.

Very powerful magic.

Should I consider working together ...

The thought had only just popped up for a moment when Snape decisively nipped it in the bud.

It would be better to die than to cooperate ... with Andy Collins.

"Severus, let's get out!" Dumbledore said.

Back in the Headmaster's office, Snape and Dumbledore were wide-eyed and silent.

Although there was no proof, they had been pretty much certain that Voldemort's Horcrux was hidden in the Room of Requirement and had been taken by some young wizard.

But the clues broke down again when it reached here!

Unless the young wizard who had taken the Horcrux exposed himself, it would be difficult for them to find that person in the castle.

The key thing is ...

Snape asked in a deep voice, "The Horcrux should be hiding a fragment of the Dark Lord's soul, right? He's controlling a young wizard, what do you think he's trying to do?"

Dumbledore looked up in shock, "Severus, you ..."

"Horcrux?"

Snape said lightly, "That's not exactly a secret."

Dumbledore was silent for a moment, not continuing to dwell on the matter.

Since Snape already knew about the Horcrux, it was no longer Dumbledore's concern whether he would make one or not.

Snape was not a person who would listen to advice.

Until he made the Horcrux, Dumbledore could not do anything to Snape.

"Resurrect and then replace the main soul."

Dumbledore said, "Horcruxes are a very dangerous form of dark magic. When the main soul is strong, the split soul will fall into a state of silence. But when the main soul is weak, the split soul can sense and know it."

"He absorbed the life force to remake his body, then he will try to devour the main soul and make himself the new Voldemort."

Resurrection?

Snape thought for a moment, but he was still a little puzzled, "Then why didn't he kill the young wizard?"

Dumbledore said slowly, "Maybe ... he didn't want Hogwarts to close!"

When Voldemort was in his fifth year, it was because he didn't want to see Hogwarts close that he stopped killing.

Snape frowned, "If he left Hogwarts, there would be more room for him to manoeuvre than there is now."

In particular, by leaving Hogwarts, he would not have to face the greatest wizard of the twentieth century in front of him.

Dumbledore quietly looked out the window.

Indeed, it wasn't the same as back then, and Voldemort shouldn't have any qualms about it.

Unless ... he had another agenda!

"Harry!"

Dumbledore looked sharply at Snape, "There is only a fragment of Voldemort's soul inside the Horcrux, he doesn't know how his main soul failed."

"So he must be very curious about Harry!"

"How did he defeat such a powerful Dark Lord, a baby who was barely a year old?"

Snape's expression hardened for a moment.

This was the most likely guess.

While regaining his strength and observing Harry, incidentally ... he could also tease the greatest wizard of the twentieth century in front of him.

"I'll go check it out!" Snape said in a huff.

"Severus, take it easy."

Dumbledore said calmly, "Voldemort won't make a move on Harry that quickly, we still have time. And ... Voldemort won't be able to hurt Harry."

Snape looked at Dumbledore, he needed an explanation.

"That magic Lily left behind has been protecting Harry from harm."

Dumbledore explained, "That's the power Voldemort doesn't know about, he can't fight that power."

Snape: Got it!

So the real saviour is actually Lily, and as for Harry Potter, he's just a tool man to exert the magic power.

Thinking about it that way, Snape's feelings were slightly more complex all of a sudden.

His Lily was powerful, but her love was given to someone else.

If she loved me, I could be a saviour too.

"Severus, keep an extra eye on Harry in the meantime."

Dumbledore said, "As long as we keep an eye on Harry, we will be able to find the person controlled by the Horcrux."

Snape nodded slowly.
