Hearing Lockhart's remark, Andy and Harry looked at each other. This should be the most outrageous thing that the two had heard today.
Andy was curious as to why even after Lockhart's persona had collapsed like this, he was still able to speak so brazenly, believing himself to be a master of magic?
Is it really just self-hypnosis?
Well! After all, not everyone could keep their heads clear, even in the twenty-first century of his previous life, there were just as many people who were blinded by profit and did outrageous things.
Life can sometimes be more bizarre than fiction.
"Professor, I'm sure you had a wonderful time as a student," Andy said without changing his expression.
Harry made a vomit face.
"You have a good eye, Collins."
Lockhart beamed, "Those were indeed wonderful and memorable years, I remember one Valentine's Day when I received over a hundred cards."
"Geez! You don't know how distressed I was."
Andy: "..."
Glancing at Harry, who was writing back to one of Lockhart's fans, Andy inexplicably felt that ... Lockhart might not have bragged this time.
This can be really enviable.
How about ... I try writing a novel too?
"Professor, the signature ..." Andy reminded.
This time, when he came to Lockhart's office, although the 'chance encounter' with Harry was the main purpose, asking for the signature to the restricted book section was also one of Andy's purposes.
This was called killing two birds with one stone.
"Sure!"
Lockhart agreed very quickly, "Is it the book about the General Counter-Spell? That's a very high-level spell, no one in the magic world knows more about General Counter-Spell than I do."
Lockhart quickly wrote the approval note, handed it to Andy, and then said radiantly, "That year in France, a very evil dark wizard unleashed the Fiendfyre, right in Paris - he wanted to destroy that city."
"Oh my goodness! You must not be able to imagine how dangerous it was for the Fiendfyre to get out of control, and Paris was almost destroyed because of it."
"It was I, Gilderoy Lockhart, who used the General Counter-Spell to stop that disaster and save a Muggle city."
"But I never talked about that incident."
Do you think I would believe that?
"Professor, you are amazing."
Andy said with a look of admiration, "So can you show me how to use the higher-level General Counter-Spell?"
"Of course, no problem!"
Lockhart agreed on the spot.
Then his words changed, and he went on to say, "But you have to start with the most basic theories first, and after you read this book and master it skilfully, I will teach you the higher level General Counter-Spell."
Andy felt that Lockhart could be considered a talent.
He deceived the entire magic world ...
He was really too talented to be a professor, he should play in financial fraud.
"Thank you for the approval note."
Andy put the approval note away, "You are truly a great adventurer, I really look forward to seeing more of your adventures."
Without waiting for Lockhart to speak, Andy suddenly got up and said, "It's already late, Professor, I should go back."
Lockhart glanced at the office clock and said regretfully, "Well, it is indeed a bit late. Potter, you go back with Collins!"
Harry's entire being sighed in relief, his face looking physically revitalized.
"Good night, Professor!"
Leaving Lockhart's office, Harry couldn't help but ask Andy in disbelief, "Andy, could it be that you're a fan of Lockhart's books as well?"
The thought that Andy was just as crazy about adoring Lockhart as that group of brainwashed fans, Harry couldn't help but shiver.
It was too disgusting!
"Of course not!"
Andy took out the approval slip to the restricted section and showed it off, "Don't you think that Lockhart is very easy to persuade? Just by saying something random and nice, you can get the restricted book section's approval slip from him."
Harry wore an incomprehensible expression.
"You're quite the Ravenclaw," Harry asked himself if he could do that, and figured he couldn't.
Reading books was torture enough, complimenting Lockhart ... that was double torture.
In the silence of the corridor, Andy and Harry whispered a word from time to time.
"Andy, did you hear something?" Harry suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at Andy with a grave expression.
"Huh?"
Andy froze, listened sideways for a moment, and shook his head, "Nope! Harry, are you too tired?"
"Probably. ..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Harry added, "Listen, that voice is back again. It says... kill... blood... food ... Not good, it might want to kill someone!"
As the words fell, Harry looked at Andy with a horrified look on his face.
"Shhh-"
Andy made a silencing gesture and calmly said, "Harry, listen more carefully."
Harry nodded silently.
Not a moment later, Harry gave Andy a passing look, signalling that the voice was back again.
Andy pretended to listen intently.
"There's a sound, I can hear it, it's a hissing sound ..."
Andy walked over to the window, took his wand, and used a levitation charm to pull out the small snake from the crack in the window.
"Hiss~"
The little green snake spat its tongue at Andy, and the whole snake coiled into a circle in mid-air in an attacking pose.
"This snake can talk!!!"
Harry looked amazed, "Andy, this snake... it says it's going to eat you, watch out!"
Andy turned his head to Harry and stared, "Harry, you're Parselmouth!"
"What's Parselmouth?" Harry looked confused.
Andy explained, "A Parselmouth are people who can speak Parseltongue, a language of snakes. Harry, this snake doesn't talk, all I hear is hissing."
Harry obviously didn't care, "You mean, I can talk to snakes? But ... I didn't even learn that Parseltongue stuff."
Andy gave a complicated look, "Harry, the ability to speak in a Parseltongue is hereditary. Do you know why the symbol of Slytherin House is a snake? It's because Salazar Slytherin, himself, is Parselmouth."
"Harry, maybe you have Salazar Slytherin's blood running through your veins."
Harry gulped, he was obviously having a hard time accepting that he was related to Salazar Slytherin.
"No way! How, how could I be related to a Slytherin?"
'It's hard to accept' is written all over Harry's body, "Andy, you must be mistaken. I guess there must be a lot of people in the wizarding world who have this ability, right?"
After saying that, Harry looked at Andy with an unconfident face.
He longed to hear that answer he wanted to hear from Andy's mouth.
Just ...
Harry thought about what happened last year during the House Sorting.
The Sorting Hat had strongly urged him to join Slytherin at that time and had said that joining Slytherin would allow him to achieve great things.
"The Parseltongue can be learned."
Andy said, "As far as I know, Dumbledore knows a lot of magical creature languages, such as merpeople tongue, and Parseltongue."
"But ... Harry, you were born with that ability."
