Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: Finally narrowing the gap in strength

"Andy, your skills are good! Have you ever considered joining the Ravenclaw team and fighting for the honour of the house together?"

An hour later, Andy and Cho Chang paused their practice and sat on the bleacher with Hermione to rest.

Hermione also turned her head to look at Andy when she heard this, "I also think you're a good flyer, you can try the chaser position."

"Me?"

Andy shook his head, "Forget about me! Quidditch practice is too time-consuming."

Hermione and Cho Chang smiled and didn't try to persuade him anymore.

They both knew a certain thing about Andy, that he was a guy who was obsessed with magic.

"What time is it?" Cho Chang asked.

"Less than two o'clock."

Andy looked at his watch, "The duelling club meets at three, we can still train for another hour."

"Come on then!" Cho Chang said as he got up.

Andy was pretty athletic and had been dragged around by Ron to play Quidditch a lot before enrolling in school. Although Cho Chang was talented in flying, she was way behind Andy in terms of experience.

It was a good thing that Andy was just a training partner, winning wasn't Andy's main goal.

At two forty, Andy and Cho Chang stopped practising.

"Cho, you are very talented, but if you want to get on the court, you still have to continue practising hard."

Andy summarized, "Fouls are also something to learn in a Quidditch match."

Cho Chang rubbed her ribs and said in an unhappy tone as she sniffed, "So ... is that why you fouled me?"

Andy shrugged, "If you don't believe me, ask Hermione, she must not have seen it."

Hermione indeed didn't see Andy foul, seeing both of them looking at her, Hermione spoke, "I just saw Andy catching up to you, then you suddenly slowed down, and in the end, Andy grabbed the Golden Snitch."

"Alright, I'll seriously look into Quidditch foul play." Cho Chang compromised.

She actually didn't like fouls very much, but then again, fouls were an essential part of Quidditch matches.

Amid small talk, the three of them returned to the castle together, and after handing over their flying brooms, the three of them made their way up to the abandoned classroom on the fifth floor, where they practised magic.

Seeing the three of them come in together, Cedric immediately looked at Andy with a sulky face.

He had already heard that Andy and Hermione accompanied Cho Chang to practice Quidditch. And he, a Hufflepuff, was vaguely excluded by the three.

"On the pitch, we're rivals." Andy laughed.

"Fine!"

Cedric raised his hands in surrender, but he wouldn't give up such a good opportunity, "Training is up to you guys, but technically if there's something you don't understand, I can help you."

"Thanks!" Cho Chang didn't refuse either.

"Alright, time is running out, let's start practising duelling!"

Andy proposed, "Cedric, how about we have a duel first? I've gotten a lot stronger this summer."

Cedric raised an eyebrow, "What a coincidence, me too!"

Andy waved his wand and locked the door to the classroom before casting an Imperturbable Charm on the door to make sure that no one would come over and disturb him and the others.

"Hermione, you call for the start."

Andy said before pulling away from Cedric.

"Start!"

Hearing 'start', Andy quickly placed a layer of Shield Charm on himself, while then directly raising his wand and aiming it at Cedric.

At this moment, Cedric had only just finished chanting the incantation 'Protego'.

This was the advantage of silent spell casting.

It takes time to recite an incantation.

Even if the time to recite an incantation was actually very short, compared to casting a spell silently, that short time would seem extremely long.

If it was a true fight for his life, this time difference would be enough for Cedric to die once.

Whoosh!

In Cedric's stunned gaze, a red magic beam directly tore through his Shield Charm.

Before Cedric could react, Andy waved his wand continuously, and wave after wave of attacks continuously pressed against Cedric.

Cedric ran around the classroom in a sorry state, and in less than a minute, he was easily disarmed by Andy.

Receiving the wand handed over by Andy, Cedric shook his head and laughed bitterly, "Andy, I'm completely no match for you now. You are truly a rare magic genius."

"Thanks!"

Andy said, "But I'm also working very hard."

Life and death battles between wizards actually relied on sneak attacks a lot of the time.

This was because if two wizards were allowed to prepare at the same time, it would actually be very difficult to tell the winner from the loser.

Even if the magic attainments of the two wizards were high or low, they wouldn't be too far apart, and defending against a few magic spells with the Shield charm would always be possible.

Unless one of the wizards was an athletic genius with extremely fast reflexes and the other wizard was a dullard with delayed reflexes.

Andy and Cedric were the best examples.

Andy's magic attainment was high, and Cedric's motor nerves were strong. In this situation, as long as Andy couldn't defeat Cedric in seconds, the situation of the battle would be a stalemate.

But now, this situation was broken.

Silent spell casting allowed Andy to establish a great advantage, no need to recite incantations, only need to wave his wand to cast spells continuously, which was simply a dimensional blow to Cedric.

The casting speed was fast, the magic power was strong, and you could even have an explosive attack power by adjusting your emotions.

The current Andy was considered a wizard with a good level in the magic world.

Cho Chang marvelled, "I've long known that Andy can cast spells silently, I didn't expect him to be so skilled already."

Andy smiled he-he and glanced at Hermione triumphantly.

Hermione unexpectedly didn't give Andy a glum face, but instead looked at Andy with a glowing smile on her face.

"You two take a break!"

Cho Chang proposed, "Hermione, how about the two of us try?"

"No problem," Hermione answered.

Of the four, if they were ranked by their duelling ability, it would be Andy, Cedric, Hermione, and Cho Chang.

Don't look at Hermione, who looked like a nerd and was a little bit afraid of heights, but the little witch's duelling ability wasn't bad at all. Her motor nerves might not be so good, but her calculation skills were great.

The little witch was always able to make the best use of her magic at the crucial moment.

Cedric suddenly suggested at this time, "I think you two can try with Andy, I don't think he needs to rest now."

Andy was a little embarrassed.

A wave of the wand really didn't tire him at all.

Which was, unlike Cedric, who had been beaten by Andy and fled all over the room.

"It's okay!"

Cho Chang looked at Andy with an eager face, "How about it, Andy? Dare to compete with the two of us?"

"Sure, come on then!"

Andy walked to the other end of the classroom and distanced himself from Hermione and Cho Chang.

"You guys start first!" Andy said in a casual tone.

"Be less arrogant."

Hermione placed a Shield Charm on herself, and when she saw that Andy still hadn't cast a spell, she and Cho Chang exchanged a glance before raising their wands towards Andy at the same time.
