Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 That year, I put my hand in my pocket and then my opponent won

Hogwarts Castle was huge, but there weren't many places that were fully utilized.

Andy and Cedric found an empty classroom and sneaked in using the Unlocking Charm.

"Andy, do you know the Shield Charm?" Cedric asked.

Andy nodded his head and gave a 'hmm', "I've already mastered it, but I'm not too skilled in using it."

Cedric smiled and didn't say anything else.

The two stood opposite each other, leaving a distance of five meters in between.

Although the wizard was a long-range profession, the attack distance, not to mention comparing it to modern weapons, it couldn't even be compared to ancient bows and crossbows.

To be honest, if not for the fact that the power of wizards originated from human beings themselves, and a lot of magic was extremely magical, Andy would have long gone to the muggle world to start a business and become a capitalist.

The magical world was closed, conservative and backward, and many concepts were still stuck in the past few centuries, there was no motivation to advance oneself, so he didn't know where those pure-blooded families got the qualification to look down on the muggles.

"Let's start!"

Andy, wand in hand, saw that Cedric had no intention of striking first, so he waved his wand and added the Shield Charm to himself.

"Protego!"

With the magic shield added, Andy held his wand and pointed it at Cedric.

"Stupefy!"

Cedric's reaction was extremely fast, the moment Andy sent out his attack, Cedric similarly added the Shield Charm to himself.

"Protego!"

The Shield Charm could build an invisible wall around the caster's body, which served to bounce back most magic spells.

The exception was Unforgivable Curses.

In combat, the Shield Charm was a very practical magic move that was so difficult to use that even many adult wizards didn't grasp this spell.

This shows the quality of teaching at Hogwarts.

Andy also practised hard for a long time before picking up the Shield Charm.

Cedric was only in the third year, and the fact that he could master the Shield Charm showed that he had usually worked hard.

However, for duelling novices, the Shield Charm was actually very easy to break.

Bang!

The magic beam hit the transparent armour, and Andy immediately felt an extremely strong repulsive force.

Gripping his wand tightly, Andy increased the output of magic power.

That's right, the easiest way to break the duelling novice's Shield Charm was to 'compare beams' with the opponent.

Andy could continuously use the Stunning Spell, but Cedric could not continuously use the Shield Charm. When it was a matter of sustaining the magic output, the Shield Charm could easily be broken.

This was a tip that Helen had given to Andy during the Christmas break.

Cedric obviously did not expect Andy to use such a tactic, but he only panicked for a split second before he thought of a way to break this tactic.

That was to attack against attack.

But at this moment, it was obviously too late.

Cedric had just raised his wand and aimed it at Andy when his Shield Charm was broken by Andy, and his entire body was sent flying backwards.

Thud!

There was a soft sound.

Andy opened his mouth a little; it must have hurt!

"Finite!"

After cancelling the magic, Cedric slowly opened his eyes and shook his head to clear his head a bit.

"Is everything okay?" Andy asked.

"It's fine!"

Cedric said with some embarrassment, "I was careless this time."

"Want to try again?" Andy asked.

"Of course!" Cedric did not hesitate.

Being unconvinced was one aspect, the other was that Cedric found this kind of practice very useful. If it wasn't for today's practice, Cedric wouldn't have realized his own shortcomings.

In fact, if Cedric hadn't been lax and allowed Andy to use two magic spells first, Andy wouldn't have been able to defeat him easily.

If Andy didn't have the Shield Charm to protect his body, Cedric only needed to attack Andy with his backhand before his own Shield Charm was breached, and the one who would be caught in a passive position would be Andy.

So this tactic could only be used against dueling novices.

"Again!"

After the two of them stood back up, Cedric also got much more serious.

Being defeated once by a two-year younger junior was enough, if he was defeated consecutively, Cedric felt that he wouldn't be able to hang around anymore.

Then ...

When Cedric was once again defeated by Andy's Full Body-Bind Curse, he began to doubt life.

"Finite!"

Andy cancelled the magic, "Rest for a while!"

Cedric sat on the ground and looked at Andy with some confusion, "Andy, have you practised duelling before?"

"No!" Andy said without a single blush on his face.

The fact that I can have today's achievement is all due to my own talent, it has nothing to do with hard work.

"You're pretty good, too."

Andy honestly said, "Your reaction speed is very fast, I only relied on some small tricks to defeat you."

Although he won over Cedric, Andy was not arrogant because of it.

If Andy was a magic type of player, then Cedric was an athletic type of player.

He is the Hufflepuff team's Seeker, and his eyesight and reflexes are far superior to Andy's. If Andy and Helen hadn't practised duelling, Andy would be the one to lose today.

Even now, after Cedric familiarized himself with Andy's routine, Andy didn't think he could beat Cedric.

"Your magic spell is more powerful than me."

Cedric praised, "It's hard to imagine that you're still a first-year wizard."

Andy shrugged, "Dueling involves more than just magic."

Andy's magical attainments definitely exceeded Cedric's, although Cedric was two years older than Andy, he was after all not like Andy who practised magic for hours every day.

But duelling depends on more than just magical attainments.

Andy suddenly became a little envious of athletic players like Cedric and Harry.

They only needed to master a few combat-type magic, and they could outperform most people with their superior reflexes.

"Even if my reflexes are faster than yours, it's still hard to break through your Shield Charm." Cedric was equally impressed with Andy.

Cedric had also heard some gossip about Andy, when he wasn't in class, Andy was either reading in the library or finding a classroom to practice his magic.

For almost a year, Andy had never changed his routine.

This was not something an average person could do.

In the third year, Cedric ranked among the best students, but he could only manage to be proficient in using magic and had never practised as hard as Andy.

"Andy, after graduation, do you want to be an Auror?" Cedric suddenly asked.

"Nope! Why do you ask?" Andy asked back.

"I saw you practising magic hard and studying duelling techniques, so I thought you wanted to be an Auror," Cedric said.

In his conception, only Aurors needed all this.

"I just like magic more."

Andy decided to fool Cedric and try to see if he could reverse his values.

"I don't want to waste my life in the Ministry of Magic after graduation, and I don't plan on getting any job."

"I think wizards should do things that are in line with their identity as wizards."

Andy showed a look of yearning, "I want to study the mysteries of magic, search for the origin of magic power, and push it to greater heights."
