Chapter 466 - Chapter 466 Hermione: Andy, come in for a moment

Andy once did a divination.

The prediction was that the young wizard would fall down the stairs.

Who took precautions for several days, almost thinking that he had avoided the misfortune. But before he could let out a sigh of relief, someone accidentally knocked him down the stairs.

It was a nasty fall!

What's more, the image of being knocked down didn't appear in the crystal ball during the divination.

Andy suspects that if the young wizard had created the illusion of 'falling down the stairs' himself and actively completed that time node, he might have truly avoided this disaster.

Of course, this is just Andy's speculation.

Andy feels that fate and time are very similar.

When we use a Time-Turner to go back in time, we cannot change the past; we can only add a piece to the established history.

So neither Dumbledore nor Snape ever thought of using a Time-Turner to capture Peter Pettigrew.

Because once they did, there was a good chance they would never be able to return.

It was the same with fate.

Once we saw a piece of fate, there was nothing we could do to stop it. All we could do was steer it in a direction that would benefit us.

Back in the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall came up to them. "Mr. Collins, what was the result of the divination?"

"Peter has escaped."

Andy said, "He turned into a rat and went to a run-down house, where he used an Apparition. But we only saw the room; we don't know where it is."

In fact, Andy knew where the room was!

It was the Shrieking Shack in Hogsmeade, which could be reached via the secret passage under the Whomping Willow.

There was a table in the room.

The dust on the table was the dust that Andy had wiped away when he had brewed the potion there.

But Andy won't say it.

Andy didn't want anyone to know that he had been to the Shrieking Shack.

Professor McGonagall nodded. "Divination is really convenient! It seems that I can inform Albus and tell him to stop searching."

"Professor McGonagall..."

Andy shrugged, "Then we'll go rest first."

As for the prophecy made for Harry later... On the way back, Andy had already agreed with Harry.

Harry would inform Dumbledore of the prophecy, and no one else could know except Dumbledore.

"Good night!" Professor McGonagall responded.

"You too, good night!"

After parting with Professor McGonagall, Andy and Hermione found the Ravenclaw prefect and got assigned their respective tents.

The prefect was very considerate; Andy and Hermione's tents were not only by the wall but also next to each other.

"A rare experience," Andy said.

"You've never slept in a tent?" Hermione looked surprised.

"I have, just once."

Andy said, remembering. "It was the Quidditch World Cup three years ago. There were a lot of people, and the matches went on for ages. If you don't bring a tent, you have to sleep outside."

Hermione had an odd expression.

The young witch could hardly imagine watching a Quidditch match while sleeping in a tent.

"It sounds like you slept in tents a lot," Andy said.

"Not really,"

Hermione recalled, "Our family occasionally goes camping in the wilderness... You may not know much about it, but life as a Muggle is very busy, and camping is a rare form of leisure."

"The Muggle world is not as laid-back as the wizarding world, where you can see nature just by opening the door."

Andy laughed, "That's true."

In the meantime, Andy and Hermione had finished setting up their tent.

Hermione got into her tent and then stuck her head out, waving at Andy, "Andy, come in for a second."

This... is not good, is it?

Andy hesitated for only 0.2 seconds before crawling into Hermione's tent. "Can I help you?"

"No..."

Hermione leaned over and whispered, "I haven't had a chance to say this before...Andy, we could actually try that."

As she spoke, Hermione pulled her collar open to reveal what was underneath.

"No way!"

Andy rejected without hesitation, "We already know Peter has escaped. This is established history, and it absolutely cannot be changed."

If history is changed, one will be exiled in the cracks of time.

If history could be changed at will, the Time-Turner would have long ago become a strategic weapon, and it would never have been casually handed over to the young wizard.

"I know! We saw Peter use the Apparition in that room, and that is unchangeable."

Hermione put forward a hypothesis: "But we can go back in time, quietly follow Peter, and then chase after him after he uses the Apparition, following the traces of magic."

"As long as we catch up to Peter, then everything that happens next is the unknown future."

"Hmm..." Andy pondered for a moment.

"No!"

Andy refused again, "If it were that simple, Professor Dumbledore would have come looking for us a long time ago."

"There must be something we haven't thought of."

Hermione's face was twisted with emotion.

Indeed, Andy was right.

If the Time-Turner could be used to catch Peter Pettigrew, then Dumbledore and Snape would have come looking for them a long time ago.

"Don't think too much about it."

Andy laughed, "Let Peter run around for a few days; we can always deal with him later."

"Okay!" Hermione nodded.

"Go to sleep! Hah..."

Andy pretended to yawn, "It's past midnight; I'm exhausted."

After saying that, Andy was ready to lie down and go to sleep.

Hermione: "..."

The little witch was speechless. "You're going to sleep here?"

"Huh? You're the one who let me in," Andy asked, confused.

"Get out," Hermione said, pulling Andy's clothes and trying to throw him outside.

"Don't be so loud, or someone will hear us," Andy said, dodging.

"Hurry up!" Hermione looked at Andy with a stern face.

Andy glanced at Hermione's face...

Okay!

After all, they were in the great hall, and Andy was just joking.

"Good night!"

After saying that, Andy sighed and walked out of Hermione's tent with a dejected look.

Unfortunately, the young witch was not moved at all.

"Good night!"

After Andy had walked out of the tent, Hermione quickly said 'Good night' and swiftly pulled the tent closed.

Andy: "..."

***

Outside the Great Hall.

Dumbledore had already learnt Andy's divination result from Professor McGonagall.

A dilapidated room.

Dumbledore only had to think for a moment to understand how Peter Pettigrew had escaped.

There was a secret passage under the Whomping Willow that led to the Shrieking Shack!

"It seems the castle is safe."

However, despite his words, Dumbledore's face did not look relaxed at all. "Minerva, you've worked hard tonight; you can go inside and rest!"

"Severus..."

Snape: "..."

I understand. The Deputy Headmistress can rest, but I still have to keep working...right?
