Andy was sure that the Fat Cat Patronus really felt the height inside the mural world. The laboratory in the mural world was identical to the one outside.
But there is no such thing as height in the two-dimensional world, so it can only be false height.
However, looking at the real world from the perspective of the mural world, the feeling is completely different.
From the perspective of the Fat Cat Patronus, the light ball of the wand-lighting charm is as dazzling as the sun.
But the thing is, there are two light orbs in the chamber, and from the perspective of the Fat Cat Patronus, they appear to be located at the same distance from it.
It's like... when someone in the real world looks up at the night sky. You can tell the size of each star, but you can't tell how far away they are.
'Is this really a two-dimensional world?'
Andy wonders. 'It looks like a three-dimensional world, but it's missing a dimension called "height". But when you're in it, everything seems real.'
'What does the fourth dimension look like?'
Andy wondered.
'Maybe when we enter the fourth dimension, we'll find that it's actually not that different from the third dimension. It's just that compared to the fourth dimension, something in the third dimension is false.'
'It's just that when we're in the third dimension, we can't perceive that falseness.'
Andy looked at the murals in the chamber and felt an urge to find out what was really going on.
But...
Andy deliberated for a moment; in the end, he didn't take a step.
'If only I wasn't in Azkaban,' Andy sighed helplessly.
"Big cat, go again."
Andy turned his head and looked at a certain tool cat and commanded, "This time, when you go in, find an opportunity to construct a truly high, and see if you can break free from the world of the mural."
The fat cat Patronus shook its tail.
It used Andy's mental power to construct a soul. Although it looked stupid and cute, it could actually fully understand what Andy was conveying.
Pulling up a silvery-white ray of light, the fat cat Patronus once again flew into the mural on the ceiling.
But unlike last time, this time the fat cat patronus already knew what it should do.
However, after trying for a long time, it still had no idea how it should construct a real 'high'. Because in its eyes, the world it saw was no different from the real world.
Without being able to construct a 'high', it was impossible to make the two-dimensional world truly ascend to a higher dimension.
With a wave of his wand, Andy removed the disillusionment charm on him and the silencing charm from the ceiling mural.
The fat cat patronus immediately wagged its tail at Andy.
Andy waved his wand and drew three golden magical rays of light in the air.
The fat cat patronus tilted its head.
In its eyes, the three golden lines Andy drew were on a single plane—they looked long but seemed very far away.
It was like looking at the stars in the sky.
Obviously, the stars are both near and far from us, but to the naked eye, they seem to be on the same plane, and you can't tell their distance.
This is a kind of deception of vision and perception.
The fat cat Patronus is being deceived right now.
"Don't look with your eyes; you have to perceive with your heart," Andy said.
The Fat Cat Patronus looked down, reached out with its paw, and touched the area of its chest, then made a confused expression at Andy—I don't have an organ called 'heart'?
"I meant mind, you idiot!" Andy almost died of anger at the stupid cat.
The Fat Cat Patronus gave Andy a knowing look, then closed its eyes and carefully began to perceive.
Five minutes passed...
Ten minutes passed...
"Okay, you can come back now!" Andy said helplessly.
The fat cat patronus looked at Andy with its eyes open, made an expression of being aggrieved, and then vanished into thin air.
Andy summoned the stupid cat out again.
The fat cat patronus quickly passed on the "awareness" it had just experienced to Andy. Andy closed his eyes and carefully experienced the perspective of the fat cat patronus.
The feeling was almost the same as if he had experienced it himself.
When the Fat Cat Patronus entered the ceiling mural, what it saw was a three-dimensional laboratory.
Everything there was very real!
But looking at the real world from the perspective of the mural world... it was big and clear, but also very distant.
In the Fat Cat Patronus's perspective, Andy, the two glowing orbs of light from the Wand-lighting Charm, and the three gold lines Andy drew, which were the length, width, and height, were all on the same plane.
It's like...looking at the world in a painting!
We see that world as it is in a painting, and the 'people' in the painting see us the same way.
Andy felt his head getting a bit messy.
From this perspective, is the world we are in now three-dimensional? Or two-dimensional?
Is the world we perceive real?
Andy looked around, and everything around him was three-dimensional. Then he looked at the murals again, and everything in the paintings was on a single plane.
But the fat cat patronus has entered the world of the murals!
After entering the world of the murals, it perceives three-dimensional space in the paintings, but the world in which Andy is located is instead on a flat surface.
Andy empties his mind to calm himself down.
'No!'
Andy suddenly reacts.
When the fat cat Patronus was flying around in the world of the murals, it may have appeared to be moving in three-dimensional space, but when it flew into the laboratory, its body became smaller.
The Fat Cat Patronus itself might not be able to perceive it.
But Andy could because he had the perspective of the Fat Cat Patronus and the perspective of the real world.
It was indeed an optical illusion!
"Big Cat, do it again! This time, do it like this..."
Andy mentally communicated his idea to the Fat Cat Patronus.
The Fat Cat Patronus wagged its tail again and flew into the ceiling mural with great enthusiasm.
Andy stared intently at the ceiling mural.
After two circles, the Fat Cat Patronus flew straight out of the mural, leaving a ripple in its wake.
"It worked!" Andy exclaimed excitedly.
The Fat Cat Patronus also felt a great sense of joy.
Unlike Andy, who was simply happy, a bright white light shone from the Fat Cat Patronus, and it looked as if it had grown a little fatter.
Andy's talent of 'mind' has been increased to 6 points, and for the Fat Cat Patronus, its upper limit has been raised again.
Andy: "..."
Suddenly, he no longer felt as happy.
Andy angrily looks at the fat cat in front of him... Why should I study hard and practice magic to become stronger? And this stupid cat in front of me, become stronger just by being happy?
Is this fair? Is this reasonable?
Fat Cat Patronus: Just be happy, and you'll be successful!
