Chapter 423 - Chapter 423: Concealed Spellcasting and Harry's Misery

After the start of the school year, Andy did not slacken in his efforts to practice magic.

With Andy's current level of magic, it is difficult to make rapid progress in traditional spells and transfiguration. And this means that Andy cannot quickly gain [Potential Points] in this way.

Originally, Andy had his sights set on divination and curse magic, as these were new areas of magic.

But curse magic cannot be practised for the time being.

As for divination... Andy practised it a lot.

Especially in the classroom during the Charms, Transfiguration, and History of Magic classes, Andy often secretly did divinations for the other young wizards.

Although the results of the divinations were sometimes accurate and sometimes not, the red liquid in the system orb was always growing steadily.

Later, Andy came up with another method.

That was practising wandless magic and fusion magic.

He had been practising fusion magic for nearly a year. The results were average, but he had been making steady progress.

As for wandless casting...

In fact, before he had a wand, Andy had been secretly trying to use magic to manipulate objects.

At first, the results were fine, but as Andy's magic gradually stabilised, it became more and more difficult to 'use magic directly to control objects'.

Andy hadn't practised it for a while.

So Andy came up with a new method.

Concealed casting!

First, he stealthily pressed the wand with his left hand and then pointed his right hand at the target to strengthen the mental suggestion when casting the spell.

The effect was quite good.

Andy used this technique of concealed casting to subdue Malfoy in the abandoned classroom last time.

From Malfoy's perspective, it seemed as if Andy was casting the spell without a wand.

But in fact, Andy had a wand.

Concealed casting reduces the power of the spell, and there is no increase in casting speed. However, it has the advantage of being extremely covert, which can catch opponents off guard in actual combat and even give you the upper hand.

Take the battle in the Department of Mysteries.

If Andy had mastered the technique of concealed casting at that time, he would not have had to waste time with Scrimgeour and the others; he could have just cast a concealed Blasting Curse in their faces, then taken out his wand.

This technique can play a huge role in actual combat.

Most importantly, practising concealed casting can also improve the red liquid in the system orb.

After repeated practice and mastery, Andy even felt that he could move towards 'true wandless casting'.

This is something Andy has always dreamed of.

Using a wand is actually not a big deal, but a wand is still a huge limitation. If possible, Andy still hopes to break free from the shackles of the wand.

So concealed casting and fusion magic have become Andy's main areas of practice.

After all, divination can be practised in class.

You can also do it while eating in the great hall.

As Andy waved his wand again, the Fat Cat Patronus leapt from the tip of the wand and then flashed with a red light, charging straight at Andy.

Bang!

The first layer of the Shield Charm on Andy instantly shattered, but the second layer of the Shield Charm bounced the Fat Cat Patronus directly back.

In fact, the 'Protego Maxima' spell is a variant of the Shield Charm.

Based on this spell, Andy made a slight improvement to the Shield Charm, which is to continuously deploy the Shield Charm.

Now it seems that the effect is OK!

***

After spending time in the Room of Requirement until 10:50 p.m., Andy used the Disillusionment Charm to sneak away, then returned to the cubicle in the lavatory and waited for the other Andy to arrive.

At 11:10 p.m., Andy returned to the bedroom and threw himself onto the bed, quickly falling asleep.

The next morning, Andy struggled to get out of bed.

Using the Time-Turner did give him a little extra time to study, but it was exhausting.

If it hadn't been for the experiments with the Dark Arts, which still required the Time-Turner, Andy would have dropped a few courses and handed in the Time-Turner.

After all, the Time Turner could be stolen from the Department of Mysteries, and Andy really didn't need to take extra courses for it—that would just be torture.

The great hall.

A large group of owls flew in on time.

"Andy, you have mail," Hermione reminded him.

"Thanks!"

Andy said and opened the envelope.

"It's from Black."

Andy quickly swept a glance and said, "He said the Ministry of Magic has already sent him the reward for his arrest, and he asked me how to give me the money."

Hermione said with a look of speechlessness, "That's fast! It's been almost ten days."

"Don't complain,"

Andy laughed, "It's already pretty good to get the money; the Ministry of Magic has to go through a lot of procedures."

"The most important thing is that Fudge has been dealing with the media for a while... He needs to find time to deal with the bounty."

Hearing this, Hermione couldn't help but laugh twice.

"Fudge's reputation has really been a bit bad these days."

Hermione raised an eyebrow and said, "The newspaper reported yesterday that someone has already publicly called for Fudge to step down."

"That's not something we should worry about..."

Having said that, Andy suddenly glanced at Hermione and teased, "What? Minister Granger can't wait to take office?"

"Don't be ridiculous!" Hermione playfully slapped Andy.

Andy thought about it and suddenly asked, "Hermione, how about I keep the money in my vault for now?"

"It's your money; you can do what you like with it!" Hermione didn't want to comment on this.

Andy raised an eyebrow and looked at Hermione and laughed, "Maybe it will become our money in the future."

Hermione looked at Andy silently.

"..."

"Eat your food quickly; we have a class later." Hermione hurriedly turned away.

Teasing the young witch rejuvenated Andy a little.

But the joys and sorrows of humans will never make sense.

Harry and Ron walked into the Great Hall. Harry complained as he walked, "Snape has gone completely mad recently."

Ron didn't dare speak. He felt as if he had developed 'Snape phobia', and now whenever he heard the name, he became a little shaken up.

"He must be up to something!"

Harry said with a serious face, "He has become very abnormal recently. Not only did he not deduct any points from us, but yesterday he even asked me...how I been doing lately?"

Ron said with a sad face, "Harry, he might be concerned about you."

Harry made a disgusted expression, "I feel that he wishes I were dead."

At the thought of Snape's evil smile, looking down on him condescendingly and saying in that sinister tone, "Harry...how have you been?"

Harry felt that Snape might be out to get him.

"Malfoy has also been acting very strangely lately."

At this, Ron suddenly lowered his voice. "I heard that after the start of this school year, Malfoy approached Andy several times."
