Chapter 175 - Chapter 175 The legendary Room of Requirement

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!"

Plopping down under the covers, Andy whispered an incantation, staring at the movement of everyone on the Marauder's Map in more places through the faint light of the wand-lighting charm.

It was the middle of the night, and the vast majority of people had already gone to bed, except for the dutiful Filch, who was still roaming the castle in an attempt to catch the nocturnal wizards and teach them a hard lesson.

Dumbledore was circling the Headmaster's office, which was probably his special hobby - taking walks while reminiscing about the great days of the past.

Snape wasn't asleep either; he stayed in his office and there was no clue what he was doing; it had been a long time since he had moved from his position.

'Maybe he's making a potion.' Andy thought.

After looking at the map for a while, Andy couldn't help but get a little bored.

On such a nice night, how come there was no one on a night out?

How pitiful to have Filch wandering around the castle all alone.

I'll have to go keep him company!

Having made up his mind, Andy changed his shoes and left the dormitory directly in his pyjamas.

With a map in one hand and a wand in the other, Andy suddenly had a feeling in his heart that he had opened a full map cheat, and travelling around the castle at night was simply like being in no man's land.

It was so cool!

'Filch is still on the third floor, all the professors are staying in their rooms, and only Snape is still busy in his office.'

Andy glanced at the dynamics of Hogwarts' top creatures.

It was safe!

After walking down the Ravenclaw tower, he came to the seventh floor of the castle.

The Headmaster's office, as well as the Ravenclaw Head's office, were all on this floor.

Andy found a spot by the window to sit on the floor, and couldn't help but feel a faint, inflated feeling in his heart.

'I, Andy Collins, a second-year Ravenclaw wizard, am at this very moment taking a nightly stroll in front of the Headmaster's and Head's offices. And they know nothing about it.'

Andy looked at the Marauder's Map.

The Head of his own house was asleep, and as for Dumbledore - he was probably tired of spinning and was currently resting in his office chair.

'This is too good to be true, isn't it?' Andy's lips curled up in a grin.

Invincible!

Once this full map cheat was on, where at Hogwarts you couldn't go?

Andy got up, patted the dust on his bum, and continued to wander around the castle.

'Um...has Filch gone up to the fourth floor already?'

'Where to next?'

'To the girls' lavatory on the second floor?'

Andy shook his head, dismissing the idea for the moment.

Myrtle lived in the toilet in that lavatory, and if Andy went over at this moment, he would probably be publicised all over the castle by Myrtle tomorrow.

Andy also wanted a reputation.

After wandering around the seventh floor for a while, Andy felt a little bored.

The emotion of running around on a cheat is indeed very cool, but if you are the only player on the whole map, running around on a cheat is not much fun.

Only online games would require turning on the cheat, when playing single-player, Andy had always increased the difficulty.

'Where to next?'

'Going to the Headmaster's office for a high?'

"Forget it! It's better not to die. Well ... how about going back to bed?"

Andy glanced at the Marauder's Map and felt that there really wasn't anywhere to go.

"Huh? This is...?"

Just as he was about to go back, there was a door suddenly appearing on the wall beside Andy as he turned around.

Thinking about the legend of Hogwarts, Andy blurted out, "The Room of Requirement!?"

Andy glanced down at the Marauder's Map, which didn't show the room.

'Maybe the maker of the ... map didn't find the Room of Requirement either.' Andy speculated in his mind.

'Looks like I got lucky tonight.'

Andy stretched out his hand and was about to push open the door and go inside to see what the legendary Room with a Requirement actually had.

"... Wait!" Andy suddenly paused.

Legend has it that the Room of Requirement will come and go from time to time, and when it does, it will always be decorated to fit the requirements of the person seeking help.

'So ... what did I just want to do?'

'Go back to bed?'

'Nope! I was just bored and kept wanting to go somewhere interesting.'

Andy withdrew his hand.

'So what kind of place would ... be called interesting to the 'thoughts' of the Room of Requirement?'

Andy hesitated for a moment, clenched his teeth, and finally curiosity overcame caution as he stepped forward and pushed the door open.

"This is ...," Andy's mouth twitched.

Behind the door, it turned out to be the Headmaster's office.

Andy had been to Dumbledore's office and was quite familiar with the layout.

'But ... why would the Room of Requirement find this place interesting?'

'Or is it that in my subconscious, I actually want to go to the Headmaster's office and make a splash?'

Sheesh! It wasn't out of the realm of possibility.

Andy looked around.

Dumbledore wasn't there?

'Nope! This isn't really the Headmaster's office, but a transformation of the Room of Requirement.'

Andy remembered that he had had a look at the Marauder's Map before entering the Room of Requirement.

Dumbledore was sitting in the office at the time.

'Since it's a fake ...'

Andy's eyes glanced around the room, eventually locking onto the bookshelves in the Headmaster's office.

'Those books, aren't they something you can just read?'

Andy's heart shook.

These books were magic books that were collected by the greatest wizards of the twentieth century, and each one of them was a priceless treasure in the magic world.

Andy's eyes swept over the bookshelf.

Secrets of the Darkest Art.

Andy took out the book that he hadn't finished last time and prepared to read the back while he had the chance.

Andy was still a bit self-aware.

Those books in the Headmaster's office, Andy actually had the chance to read most of them. But the books related to dark magic, Dumbledore would never let Andy read - even a single word.

What's more, this book explains cutting-edge dark magic.

With a pilgrimage heart, Andy turned over the first page of the book.

The book "Secrets of the Darkest Art" contained many dangerous dark magic spells, including the Three Unforgivable Curses, as well as powerful dark magic spells like the Fiendfyre Curse.

Not only that, many of the dark magic recorded in the book, Andy had never even heard of them.

Moreover, all of these dark magic had a common characteristic.

Evil!

But the most important key knowledge in this book was not the dark magic itself, but the first word of the book's title.

Secrets!

This book unveils the secrets of dark magic.

If we put aside the label of dark magic as 'evil' and look at it with normal eyes, we will realise that dark magic explores human beings themselves in a way that white magic will never be able to surpass.

Everyone knows that a killing curse can deprive an opponent of life in an instant.

That's why people think killing curse is evil!

But no one knew why the killing curse could deprive the opponent of life.

And the answer to all this can be found in the book "Secrets of the Darkest Art".

The exploration of life in the book is very profound.

Borrowing the killing curse's ability to deprive life, it extended quite a few views on life.

"No wonder Dumbledore didn't destroy this book."

Andy pondered.

Perhaps Dumbledore also felt complicated in his heart?
