Chapter 108 - Chapter 108 Dumbledore's Plan

In fact, he can't blame Dumbledore for being so cautious, because in the current magic world, there are too few people who can really stand up to the situation.

Dumbledore's biggest worry now is that when he is old, no one in the British magical world can stand up against Voldemort.

Most wizards live a relatively long time, but after ten years at most, even if Dumbledore holds the Elder Wand, it will be difficult to compete with Voldemort anymore.

After all, the battle will not only test the magical attainment but also the ability to react, as well as the grasp of the right timing.

Upon hearing Snape say that Voldemort would not take the initiative to find him, Dumbledore was not too optimistic.

"What about you?"

Dumbledore said, "Since you intend to win Voldemort's trust, you need to go to the Albanian Forest to meet him at some point."

Snape's expression didn't change, "I'll make it work."

With that said, Snape looked at Dumbledore and his tone became a bit more serious, "Since you have the Philosopher's Stone..."

Without waiting for Snape to finish, Dumbledore raised his hand to stop Snape's later words.

"The Philosopher's Stone is not omnipotent, it cannot stop the body from growing old." Dumbledore had met Nicolas Flamel, and the other party had aged to the point where even shaking hands would cause one to snap a bone.

Dumbledore didn't want to live like Nicolas Flamel.

Nicolas Flamel at least has a wife, but Dumbledore is alone in the world without a soul to lean on.

He hadn't lived enough, but he didn't fear death either.

He's willing to let nature take its course.

The only thing Dumbledore worried about nowadays was actually Voldemort.

He was a man he led into the wizarding world and taught, so it was only fair for him to deal with the trouble that Voldemort caused.

"Is there nothing else that can be done?" Snape's eyes were a little complicated.

After some of the events of this year, he had seen what Dumbledore was planning to do, and also Dumbledore's worries.

Before finding out the secret of Voldemort's immortality, Dumbledore could not kill Voldemort or deal with Voldemort in his wandering state.

But Voldemort will always come back to life.

If he fails this time, there's a next time and a next time, and he won't keep failing.

According to the prophecy, Harry Potter is the arch-enemy marked by Voldemort himself, and he possesses a power in him that Voldemort doesn't understand, the love that Lily has for her son.

That's why Dumbledore had put his hopes in Harry Potter.

But Harry...

Some people look at others with their own filters, while others, look at others with their own tinted glasses.

In Snape's eyes, Harry was stupid and arrogant, worse than even his father - James Potter was also stupid and arrogant in Snape's eyes, and not very capable.

This was the root cause of Snape's decision to go undercover beside Voldemort.

He has to protect Lily's son, one way or another.

Dumbledore was silent for a moment, "Harry is the only hope."

"You promised me before." Snape was a little angry, this was not what he had promised before.

"I can hold out for a few more years."

Dumbledore looked a little tired, "Severus, keep an eye on Malfoy a little during the holiday."

Snape looked puzzled, "Draco? What is wrong with him?"

"It's Lucius Malfoy."

Dumbledore said slowly, "I still have more or less some influence over Fudge, and Arthur works for the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. Over the summer, I'll have the Ministry of Magic search for dark magic artefacts, as well as illegally modified Muggle items."

Snape frowned slightly, what was the old man up to?

"I have more or less grasped the secret of Voldemort's immortality."

Dumbledore said slowly, "It's just that I need some proof now."

"You think the proof is in Lucius' hands?" Snape asked gruffly.

"I wish it was in his hands as well."

Dumbledore said, "The Ministry of Magic shouldn't be able to search for anything, so it's up to you."

Snape nodded, "I'll keep an eye on him. But...what exactly is this evidence you speak of?"

"I have no idea." Dumbledore shook his head slowly.

Many means in the wizarding world could stop death, and Hogwarts had nearly a dozen of them documented in its library.

The Horcrux was just one of them.

The reason why Dumbledore suspected that Voldemort had made a Horcrux was because the method of making a Horcrux was documented in the book Secrets of the Darkest Art.

Voldemort was a dark wizard, and it was natural for him to resort to Secrets of the Darkest Art if he wanted to prevent death.

Snape's face darkened.

What do you mean you don't know either?

You don't know, and you're asking me to find out, what's wrong with you?

"I only suspected as much..."

Dumbledore explained, "That item could be any item, but it must be a dark magic item."

After thinking about it, Dumbledore added, "The item might also have a bewitching function."

Snape's face looked slightly better.

As long as there were clues.

"I've been keeping an eye on Quirrell this whole time, how's Collins doing?" With the big matter of Voldemort out of the way, Dumbledore set his sights on the next student who had the potential to be bad.

Dumbledore had already heard that Andy had the guts to read dark magic books in the Headmaster's office.

It was nothing but recklessness.

Voldemort had at least a few scruples when he was a student, but Andy didn't even have those scruples.

After all, Hogwarts couldn't expel a student for learning dark magic, and peeking at forbidden books was just a matter of deducting points and being detained.

These punishments were simply painless to Andy.

Snape looked annoyed at that, "How am I supposed to know."

Snape didn't want to see Andy, since Andy was planning to introduce his aunt to Snape.

Besides, Snape suspected that Andy already knew about what happened to him when he was in school. At the moment, Snape wished he was still a Death Eater.

An Obliviate to make him forget.

"He came to my office last time and peeked ... at the book Secrets of the Darkest Art." Dumbledore originally wanted to say 'Sneak a peek' but Andy clearly read significantly.

That book was a solid record of a lot of high-level dark magic.

Snape grimaced at that, "How much did he read?"

"Only for a little while."

Dumbledore said, "Collins should have only read one chapter of the book, he had some self-control and ended up putting it back."

"So, what are you worried about?" Snape asked.

Dumbledore briefly recounted the conversation that had taken place in the Headmaster's office that day.

Andy did have some self-control, but he had put the book back in order to handle Dumbledore.

You see, I know this book will teach me bad things, so I'm not reading it.

"You wouldn't have such a headache if that prophecy had been fulfilled on Collins, would you?" Snape didn't care that Andy was learning dark magic, what was wrong with learning dark magic, he had learned it too.
