Alzar's response was brief and to the point. He had spent the past month acclimating himself to his new body, grappling with the heightened senses and the constant craving for blood. It was a monotonous existence, a stark contrast to the life he had once known.
Then, with a flourish, Silax gestured towards Maku, who stood awkwardly behind him.
"This is Maku. A new addition to the family." He announced.
"He'll be staying here until I make other arrangements." Silax continued, addressing Alzar.
The introduction sparked a flicker of curiosity in Alzar's crimson eyes. He studied Maku with a predatory glint, a silent question hanging unspoken. Silax, however, brushed past the unspoken query.
"How much of the blood supply do you have unconsumed?" Silax inquired, his voice devoid of concern.
"Just enough for one more feeding, sire." Alzar said, dipping his head in deference.
"I planned to take it in a few days."
