༺A SMALL TOWN IN ENGLAND༻
"Honey, are you sure about this? I know it's been seven years but going back to the United States... Are you sure you can keep them hidden? What if... I don't know, God help me, I'm scared!"
Alora sighed and zipped up the last box. "I know mum, Dalton is there and everything but don't worry, I'll keep the kids safe just trust me mom."
She had applied for a job in companies she knew weren't partners with Dalton's and were all located in smaller parts of the city. If she was careful enough, she could live her life peacefully without them crossing paths.
*************
Early the next morning, they packed up all their things and were driven to the airport by her parents who bid them goodbye. Hours later, they arrived in New York City and boarded a cab back home.
Alora couldn't help but smile as she watched the children running around in the garden. They were back in her parent's old house and would be living there until they had enough money to get their own apartment.
"Frank, Dexter!" Alora called out when she finished packing in with the help of the housekeeper. "Angie, come here!"
"Here we are, mum!" The boys answered and dashed in first before the girls followed behind them. They were two boys and a girl.
"Mummy, look what we found in the garden" Dexter the second and third said, holding out her hands.
"Tomatoes!" They said it together.
"We found it first" The boys chorused and tried to snatch the tomatoes.
"Mum I was the that picked it first, back off!" Angie fired and went to hide behind their mother's back.
"Mummy said to be fair and that's not fair at all" Frank frowned already annoyed with his sister.
"Give them back!" Dexter said.
"Or I'll come get it and you won't like what I will do to you" Frank said coming closer to Angie
"That's enough. And frank is she do something to you let me know she is a girl do you understand"Alora said cautioning him.
"Yes mum" Frank said noding his head.
"Good, You all did a great job, I'm impressed. Now, Mummy's gonna take the tomatoes and use them to prepare dinner for all of us. How about that?" The children happily agreed and she heaved in relief.
Handling the kids was never going to be an easy task especially when her parents weren't there to help anymore. She had to learn how to live alone with them even when their old housekeeper offered to help out sometimes.
Some minutes later, she stood in the kitchen preparing dinner while the quadruplets sat at the kitchen table. Frank was reading a book, Dexter was playing with Legos and Angie was coloring. Alora watched them with a smile on her face and began to stir the pasta, humming a lullaby under her breath. "Thank you God for giving me this wonderful children" She muttered.
"Mummy, will we go to a new school?" Angie asked during dinner.
"Yes, of course, sweetheart, I've started doing some digging already." Alora said smiling.
"Do you think the other kids will like us?" Dexter asked, looking up at his mother.
"Of course, baby, why wouldn't they? You all are the most handsome and beautiful princes and princess I've ever seen." Alora said smiling looking at their faces.
As the boys grinned and the girl giggled, Alora couldn't help but watch them with a small smile on her face. Suddenly, all she could see were children who looked exactly like their father. The boys, Frank and Dexter were identical with each having their father's dark brown hair and the same shade of his chocolate brown eyes.
The girl Angie, shared their father's brown eyes and had curly dark dad hair like their mother's. But still, they looked a lot like their father. It's just that Frank don't talk much , he is a little bit quiet.
"Mummy, are you alright?" Dexter asked, jerking her out of her thoughts.
"I'm... I'm fine!" She replied and picked up her glass of water. After drinking, she lowered the glass and found three pairs of brown orbs staring at her. She shuddered and smiled again. "Come on, finish up. It's almost time for bed!"
Alora watched them eat with sadness behind her eyes. Why did they all have his eyes? Each time she looked at them, she remembered him and it sent sizzles down her spine. How could she forget about the past when they all served as a reminder of him?
After dinner, she helped the kids freshen up before tucking them in bed. "Goodnight my handsome knights"
"Goodnight mum, we love you!" They said.
She smiled and left for the girl' room which used to be her room. After kissing her goodnight, she retired to bed. She had a job interview the next day and needed to be physically and mentally prepared for it
