Chapter 1 - The price of democracy

 In the Democratic Republic of Freeland, Gonzalo had been working in a tech company Pear for over 15 years. He lead the company project for the latest Pear 15 to be one of the best phones in the world. However, his success in his life doesn't come easy either. He had to escaped from the oppression that he had to endure in the Democratic people Republic of Communism. 

 Comparing to his hometown, living in the DRF came with lots of benefit. One of them was affordable and easy access of food even if the price was slowly rising each year due to inflation. Another benefit was that he could gave his opinion on literally anything without any fear of getting eliminated. 

With his loving wife and 2 kids in their middle school, life seemed to be going on smoothly. However, the situation changed drastically when the current president of the DRF, was assassinated when he gave the independence day speech. It shook the country to the core where the blame game began. While some of the locals were mourning the death of the current president, the other group of people who had been aiming for this opportunity would took the bait without any single hesitation, thus causing instability within the country. 

Both sides were exchanging insults against each other. Those nasty exchanges slowly within weeks stirs up violence to a level where rational thoughts and restraints were being broken. Innocent civilians and immigrants that doesn't want to get involved in this matter were being brutally killed while the hatred brewing from the unending blame game slowly destroying the society in itself. It's as if a pack of animals mauling off the weak in the jungle.
