The man picked up the last of the fish and placed it on the basket.
He let out a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat off his face, he got up and walked to the hole. He threw the last basket of fish and put down the basked beside the hole.
Then he sat down at the edge of the hole and stayed still. Ignoring the rotting stench that pervaded through the air, stinging the nose of everyone that smells it.
Yet the man ignored the smell and just sat there, thinking about something.
His eyes dead as he thought about something.
Then he shook his head and stood up. "I should go back, its all cleaned up." He looked at the beach.
Then he spotted a piece of wood drifting along the waves.
"…"
And a silhouette of child.
A child on a drifting wood.
Subconsciously, the man got up and ran towards the sea, then he swam to the piece of wood and grabbed the little girl. The man then went ashore, the little girl was little over 3 years old, a toddler.
"Huff…" The man stared at the child, the proceeded to perform a cpr on the child.
A few moments later, the child coughed up water from his mouth and his eyes opened.
A little girl with big round eyes were now looking at him. The man suddenly had someone to take care off.
The man looked at the girl.
"Are you okay?"
The girl only stared at him curiously, "#@#@%#%%."
"…" The familiar language stooped him for a moment.
Then the boy man nodded his head and scooped the little girl in his arms. "Its going to be okay."
The man went back to his house and placed the girl down on the bed, then he went to the kitchen and made a hot chocolate drink for the little girl.
The little girl looked around curiously, it was evident that the girl was shaken but it seemed that she had been used to it.
The man, knowing that he could not communicate with her as of yet, gave the mug to her and gestured for her to drink.
The girl stared at him doing something for a few moments before the finally understood what the man wanted her to do. She then placed the mug on her lips and took a small sip.
Then her eyes brightened up like sun shine.
She turned to the man and smiled at him, "$^#%# %$#."
The man looked at her, then had an inkling thought that the girl would be living with him for a long time.
