Chapter 79 - 77. To sneeze.

"Everyone, please, there's no need for this. I've only just started here, so it's normal for there to be some misunderstandings. Don't worry about it. I'm just grateful you're not holding anything against me for any mistakes I've made."

Ye Xiu quickly responded politely.

He genuinely didn't hold any grudge against them. He understood that their initial reactions were just misunderstandings and not due to any personal malice.

Seeing the genuine humility and sincerity on Ye Xiu's face, the other doctors felt a wave of guilt wash over them. Reflecting on it, they realized that Ye Xiu had always been polite and respectful towards them, even when they misunderstood and treated him less kindly. He never lost his temper.

Leaving aside his extraordinary medical skills, his attitude alone commanded their respect. No wonder Director Wang thought so highly of him. If they were in Wang's shoes, they would appreciate such a colleague too.

Many doctors felt a newfound respect for Ye Xiu, resolving to seek opportunities to communicate and learn from him in the future.

Director Wang Yan Chao observed the change in their attitudes with satisfaction. It was his hope that Ye Xiu would smoothly integrate into the department and build harmonious relationships with his colleagues.

Although many doctors wanted to continue talking to Ye Xiu, asking about his medical training and background, they all had their own duties to return to. Ye Xiu also had to get back to the clinic where patients were waiting.

After brief farewells, everyone returned to their posts. Many invited Ye Xiu to join them for lunch, and he agreed, though he warned he might not be able to leave on time.

After parting from Wang Yan Chao and the enthusiastic colleagues, Ye Xiu hurried back to the clinic. The staff there were surprised to see him return so quickly. Usually, after such incidents, a doctor might not return for the rest of the day.

However, none of the nurses or doctors dared to ask Ye Xiu directly about what had happened.

Back in his office, Ye Xiu opened the two banners. One read "Miraculous Hands!", and the other "Life-saving Benevolence!". The characters were common and not particularly well-written, but to Ye Xiu, they carried a weight of gratitude and expectation from the patients.

He carefully put the banners aside, took a deep breath to center himself, and resumed his work, focusing on the patients who needed him.

Meanwhile, in the inpatient department, the doctors couldn't calm down. The revelation about Ye Xiu had shaken them deeply. The young doctor they thought was just a privileged child turned out to be a highly skilled practitioner, comparable to their senior doctors.

Their initial disbelief was now replaced with curiosity. How had Ye Xiu acquired such skills at such a young age? What kind of training had he undergone? They no longer believed he could have come from a mediocre medical school.

Even Director Wang Yan Chao didn't have all the answers, so their discussions led to more questions than conclusions.

"Nurse Su, can you believe it? Dr. Ye is actually a highly skilled doctor! It's unbelievable!"

"Yes, it's truly unbelievable! So all those rumors were false. Director Wang genuinely values Dr. Ye and isn't trying to push him out!"

In the nurses' station, the news was the hot topic of discussion. Recalling recent events, they felt like they were in a dream. The person they thought was a good-for-nothing had just saved a patient's life and proven to be highly skilled.

Su Dongmei didn't join the chatter, but she was equally shocked. She was happy for Ye Xiu and the patients. Knowing Ye Xiu was both kind-hearted and competent meant he wouldn't be dismissed, and patients would receive excellent care.

But why had he acted clueless when he first arrived? Was he testing her?

If that was the case, she definitely had to confront him about it. Just because he was talented and favored by the director didn't mean she would let him off easily!

As Su Dongmei thought about their first day together and Ye Xiu's behavior, her anger grew. She clenched her fists in frustration.

Unbeknownst to her, she was misjudging Ye Xiu. He truly wasn't familiar with those instruments at the time. His previous training wasn't focused on internal medicine, and the equipment abroad differed from what they had at this hospital, which was relatively outdated.

"Achoo!"

In the clinic, as Ye Xiu was diagnosing a patient and entering their details into the system, he suddenly sneezed.

"Doctor, are you catching a cold? It must be tough working while sick. Thank you for your dedication!"

The patient looked at Ye Xiu with a touched expression, thinking he was working despite being ill.

"No, I'm fine!" Ye Xiu quickly reassured the patient with a smile.

He was puzzled by the sudden sneeze. It had been a long time since he last sneezed, as his health was robust. After being taken in by his mentor, he had undergone rigorous physical training, making him exceptionally fit.

Since practicing the Longevity Technique and reaching its first level, his health had improved even more, making him resistant to common illnesses.

Could it be the strong smell of disinfectant in the clinic?

After a brief pause, Ye Xiu shrugged off the thought and returned to his work.
