Chapter 23 - 23.Even heart surgery ?

"This... How is this possible?"

Dr. Qin stared at Ye Xiu's movements, completely dumbfounded. His eyes were wide, his mouth agape, as if he had seen a ghost.

"How could this guy be so proficient in his movements? How could he be so fast? Even our chief... no, not just our chief, even that renowned expert I worked with at the Affiliated Hospital couldn't do it this quickly!"

Dr. Qin tried to reassure himself, but his doubts persisted.

The other doctors were equally stunned by Ye Xiu's actions.

"Are these even human movements? Can bone-setting be done this quickly? It's so fast that the surgical nurse can't even keep up..."

Even Zhao Ruobing, who hadn't expected Ye Xiu to be skilled in bone surgery, was taken aback. Could he be an orthopedic surgeon?

"Alright."

As Ye Xiu finished, he turned his attention to the bewildered doctors. "Now, it's up to you."

Though Ye Xiu wished to complete the surgery alone for efficiency's sake, he restrained himself. This wasn't his territory, and asserting dominance wouldn't be wise. Moreover, undertaking the entire operation alone would exhaust him. Thus, he preferred to delegate simpler tasks to them for now.

Zhao Ruobing's gaze shifted to the other doctors. According to her plan, the next step was cardiac repair. The cardiac surgeon, who had snapped out of his stupor, nervously approached the operating table. But like Dr. Qin, he was paralyzed by the enormity of the situation, unsure of where to begin.

Observing the cardiac surgeon's hesitation, Zhao Ruobing's expression soured.

One orthopedic surgeon faltered, and now, the cardiac surgeon was equally incompetent...

Were all her doctors useless?

Without bothering to address the cardiac surgeon, Zhao Ruobing prepared to take matters into her own hands. She had already decided to propose a thorough overhaul of the hospital. Useless doctors couldn't be relied upon in emergencies like this.

"I'll do it."

But before Zhao Ruobing could act, she was interrupted once again.

Ye Xiu sighed as he patted the cardiac surgeon's shoulder, then returned to the operating table. "You?"

Zhao Ruobing looked at Ye Xiu in astonishment. Wasn't he an orthopedic surgeon?

Cardiac repair too?

The other doctors shared Zhao Ruobing's incredulity.

"Do you have any other options? If not, then it's me."

With Zhao Ruobing's approval, Ye Xiu resumed his actions.

"This guy thinks he's Superman... He's even volunteering for cardiac surgery?"

The doctors smirked, convinced that Ye Xiu couldn't possibly be proficient in two specialties.

Though medical interns rotated through various departments, they typically focused on their chosen field. Concentrating on one area was considered the norm. Yet here was Ye Xiu, seemingly skilled in both orthopedics and cardiac surgery.

Ye Xiu ignored their skepticism, focusing solely on his task. While cardiac surgery wasn't difficult for him, he remained cautious. The heart was delicate and vital, and even the simplest repair required precision.

His careful approach was mistaken for hesitance by the other doctors.

"I told you, no one can be proficient in two specialties..."

"He may be good at orthopedic surgery, but he's clueless about cardiac procedures..."

The doctors chuckled inwardly.

However, their laughter died as Ye Xiu's movements once again became fluid and efficient, surpassing even their chief's expertise.

The cardiac surgeon, in particular, was astounded. Ye Xiu's proficiency exceeded that of their chief!

Zhao Ruobing, despite her initial doubts, couldn't help but feel immense shock. She might not be a cardiac surgeon, but she could recognize expertise when she saw it. Ye Xiu's skill surpassed even the most seasoned cardiac surgeons she knew.

Was he truly capable of mastering two specialties simultaneously? And at such a young age?

As someone hailed as a medical prodigy since childhood and shining brightly throughout medical school, Zhao Ruobing felt like she was being hit by a tidal wave of emotions as she watched Ye Xiu's movements.
