Chapter 3 - The Unforeseen Incident

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the village of Lunaire, Zake retreated to the comfort of his humble abode. Thoughts swirled in his mind, prompted by Rena's unsettling words earlier in the day.

"I can't let fear paralyze me," Zake murmured to himself, staring out the window at the crescent moon hanging low in the night sky. "I have to be ready to face whatever comes our way."

Tomorrow, he resolved, he would seek answers. Tomorrow, he would take action.

But fate had other plans.

As the first light of dawn painted the horizon in hues of gold and crimson, a deafening roar shattered the tranquility of Lunaire. Zake jolted upright, heart pounding in his chest as he rushed to the window.

Below, chaos reigned. Villagers scattered in panic as a small, cow-like beast rampaged through the fields, its massive form leaving destruction in its wake. The air was thick with dust and fear as Zake's mind raced, grappling with the sudden turn of events.

"I have to do something!" Zake exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency as he rushed from his home, heedless of the danger that lurked below.

With determination burning in his eyes, Zake dashed through the crowd, his heart pounding in his chest as he reached the scene of devastation.

But amidst the chaos, a flicker of hope ignited within him.

Without hesitation, Zake leaped onto the back of the beast, his hands gripping its thick fur as he guided it with a firm hand.

"Easy now," Zake murmured, his voice calm yet resolute as he urged the beast forward. "We don't want to hurt anyone."

The beast's eyes softened, its frenzied movements slowing under Zake's steady guidance.

With a primal roar, the beast charged forward, its massive form barreling toward a towering oak tree at the edge of the village square.

"Look! It's Zake!" someone shouted from the crowd, their voice filled with awe and disbelief.

Gasps of astonishment echoed through the crowd as Zake and the beast collided with the tree, the impact sending shockwaves through the earth.

As dust settled and silence descended upon Lunaire, Zake stood tall amidst the wreckage, his chest heaving with exertion. The beast, now calm and subdued, nuzzled against him in a gesture of gratitude, its eyes reflecting the awe and admiration of the villagers gathered around.

"You did it, Zake!" Rena cried, her voice ringing out above the murmurs of the crowd. "You saved Lunaire!"

In that moment, Zake knew that he had found his purpose. Though the challenges ahead were daunting, he would face them with courage and conviction, for the safety of Lunaire and all who called it home.
