The plan for fighting the boss was made as everyone enjoyed the brief moment of rest.
Rem chewed on bread as he was briskly told to scavenge the Magical stones that lay across the battlefield.
Drew bated an eye at Rem who did his work on short notice, grabbing hold of the magical stones and storing them in a sack.
'I wonder if there's anything more in the Magical stones,' Drew thought as he appraised it.
…
[Item Name: Magical Monster Stone]
[Item Grade: D-grade]
[Item Description: The Magical Monster Stone are the remains gotten from the corpses of Monsters, they are sold for a high price at the GUILDs]
[Item Durability: 35 / 35]
…
'For a magical stone, It has a lot of durability,' Rem thought as he took it into the bag.
While no one was looking, he made sure to shove 2 magical stones into his baggy pockets in a hurry.
"Sir, I'm done," Rem said, handing the bag of Magical stones to the Squad Leader, the fire Magus.
"Thank you Rem," He said and then elaborated the battle plan.
It was the same as the one used against the wolves, The Cavaliers were the first line of attack, they would be empowered by the Healer's Buff magic which would increase their strength and speed by a considerable margin.
Next would be the Magus, The Squad Leader and the Earth Magus whose function were to support with their Magic, hitting the boss in its 'supposed' weak points.
After that was the healer, he had one of the most tasking job out of all of them. Not only did he have to keep up with the Reinforcement but he also had to heal any injured party members.
Rem had one of the most riskiest jobs in the entire party, There were spare weapons in his backpack, his job was to hand out the spare weapons to Cavaliers.
#####
The doors of the Boss's room slowly opened as the Party walked through, Rem gripped the bag tightly as he found that there were no big rocks here. There was nowhere he could hide.
This part of the cavern looked different from the cavern they had been traveling in for the past 2 days, there were blue crystals situated on the ceiling and on the ground too.
The boss looked like an oversized Death Wolf, It's crimson eyes locking with that of Rem for a second before it roared.
The roar sent tremors through the boss room as the Death Wolf Boss shot forward, aiming to take out the party quickly.
"Get into formation!"
The Squad leader cried out and leapt backward, The Cavaliers pushed off heading to the boss quickly.
"Reinforcement!" The Healer cried out as a golden aura wafted around his hand, his eyes were firm and stiff, filled with resolve.
The Cavaliers including Drew were instantly covered in a golden aura which increased their Attacking Strength and Speed, as well as granted them a higher level of defense.
Drew brought his Iron Sword forward as they arrived in front of the Boss.
"Die!" Drew shouted out as he stabbed it forward but the Boss Monster was much faster than Drew, It moved to the right and evaded the stabbing attack- wind shooting forward from the tip of the blade.
Right as the Boss was about to slash a Cavalier with its sharp menacing claws, Multiple orbs of fire tore through the air and slammed into it's body, a scorching sound echoing through the room as the attacks dealt considerable damage.
'Death Wolf King'
Rem distanced himself away from the battlefield, the prior battles weren't as intense as this one.
Drew's palms clasped his sword tightly as he shot toward the Boss and started slashing, the air was filled with golden slashes the next moment as the Death Wolf King, despite it's larger size, managed to dodge them.
Cut marks appeared on it's back, It's feet and it's right eye as Drew's onslaught continued. The other Cavaliers moved and attacked from the side while the Magus charged their MP to prepare for their next attacks.
After chanting, they quickly cast their spells.
"Flame Tornado!"
"Earth Spikes!"
A tornado of flames made its way to the Boss and the ground rumbled as spikes protruded from the ground, The spells made their way to the Boss as the Cavaliers continued their onslaught.
"Move!" Drew called out and the Cavaliers, armed with the power of Reinforcement moved away from the Boss as the spells collided with the Death Wolf King.
The Earth Spikes penetrated the Boss's body and the tornado of flames followed, ensnaring the Boss within a powerful vortex of flames.
"I think… it's over," The Healer said.
The Vortex of flames burned with more intensity now but Drew still had his guard up, even if the Boss was ensnared by spikes of Earth and was trapped in a tornado of flames, It couldn't…
"Rem, Mana potion!" The Healer called out and Rem nodded, throwing a Mana Potion at him.
He caught it quickly, amazed at the fact that a boy had such excellent throwing abilities and chugged it down.
The Reinforcement wore off as the Healer felt his MP rapidly return.
Rem's eyes widened in surprise as he uttered.
"It's not dead," He said.
Drew was quick to pick onto it as he turned to the Healer.
"Cast another-"
"Augh!"
Everything happened in a flash, A Cavalier hung loosely in the mouth of the Boss, his weapon dropping to the ground.
"George!" Drew cried out in alarm.
The Death Wolf King bit down and blood gushed from the Cavalier as he was eaten quickly, Blood spewed from the mouth of the Boss and painted Drew's face.
Rem took a step back, his back making contact with the door. Once they had entered, they couldn't leave.
The Healer was scared stiff and Rem felt fear too, this was not the first time he was seeing death but it was the first time he was seeing a Monster murder a Human in cold blood.
"Cast the Buffs!" The Squad Leader told the Healer and he nodded, the golden aura bursting to life around his palms once again.
Drew was already off, moving at a speed that Rem couldn't keep up with. His body was blurring and black bolts of lightning were covering his entire figure, He closed the distance between himself and the boss and drew his sword out.
"Convergence!" He yelled out, his voice trembling with rage as his body moved faster than ever.
The Black and red bolts of lightning grew chaotic as Drew collided with the Boss's head, at this point, The Reinforcement was directed at him.
'George… You were a nice young man,' Drew thought.
'Like every one of us, you had a dream. Despite being a Low E ranker, you decided to come to this dungeon… to help me out,'
'Thank you…'
The Earth Magus shimmered in brown aura.
"I call upon the Tremendous Power of the Earth, Shatter every opponent that lays before me and clear a path to Victory, Earth Power!"
The ground shook and a huge drill made out of Earth started spinning, the force of it's spinning was so much that shockwaves went through the room. The drill shot forward and hit the Boss's mid-section while Drew remained undeterred, the black bolts of lightning colliding with the walls and ground.
'Rest In Peace,'
