Rem spat on the ground, the boy hated the conduct of the guards – he lay crumpled on the ground next to one of the guard stations, his body was riddled with wounds and his bones creaked.
"Attempted theft," A guard said while looming over Rem, clad in his Onio town guard department uniform, "As a small kid, you tried something as dangerous as that,"
*Stomp*
The guard stomped on Rem's stomach, a hoarse scream escaping the throat of the boy as the shoes the guard wore slammed at his insides. The guard retracted his foot shortly after and placed it on the ground once again.
"Maybe you thought that the guards would have some mercy on you," The guard said with a mocking smile, "It doesn't matter what you think because a crime is a crime, and everyone is treated equally under the law,"
