Rem's eyes fluttered open, his head throbbed in pain but he managed to steady himself… his feet ached.
"What happened?" Rem asked, coughing as his body ached – the last thing he could remember was being hit across the face and then his vision grew hazy but he could still remember smashing onto multiple surfaces before finally coming to a stop.
Blood stained the boy's clothes as he stared ahead, finding the crumpled form of his father lying on the ground. Yokama was nowhere to be found and Rem breathed a sigh of relief, he thought they had been spared.
He tried to get to his feet but his legs gave out below him, forcing his face into the ground.
'I… can't move my legs,' Rem thought but he didn't let that deter him from his goal, he crawled across the empty street – his gray eyes were full of determination, he needed to… reach his father.
Rem didn't care about the guards…
He didn't care about the curfew…
