Chapter 66 - My name is Julie

He prepared coffee and poured it into cups, then placed bread on plates and handed them to the siblings.

It was really hard for the siblings to believe what they were seeing: freshly made coffee and bread. They reached out their hands to take the cup of coffee and plates, their hands shaking, drool dripping from the corners of their mouths.

They never thought they would see real coffee and not expired bread in their lives.

They were overwhelmed, knowing that all the local currency they had earned in their lives would not even get them expired bread to eat. They had survived until that day by consuming capsules made of various vitamins and minerals that the body needs.

The moment both siblings took a sip, their imaginations started to run wild. "The coffee was a dark elixir, its surface shimmering like obsidian beneath the morning light. Each sip carried the essence of roasted earth, a warm embrace that lingered on the palate. Beside it lay the bread, a golden-crusted creation. When broken, it revealed a tender, airy interior, its aroma reminiscent of fields of grain swaying under a summer sun. Together, they were a symphony of simplicity, a duet of warmth and comfort that spoke of early mornings and quiet moments."

"Are we in heaven?" the young lady murmured, a dazed expression on her face.

Kael reached out his hand to pinch her waist and said, moving close to her ear, "I think this is enough to prove that you are still on Earth."

"Ouch…" the young lady came back to her senses and glared at Kael.

The young man, mesmerized by the taste of the coffee and bread, came back to his senses when he heard his sister's voice and asked, "What happened, sister? Are you okay?"

"Nothing, I'm okay," the young lady said, turning around so her brother wouldn't see her blushed face.

"So, now tell me your names," said Kael, sitting on a chair that appeared out of nowhere.

"My name is Julie, and my brother's name is Rahul," said the young lady, licking the coffee cup.

"You two can call me boss from now on, and if you think I'm not strong enough to be your boss, you can challenge me at any time," Kael's face suddenly turned serious as he continued, "If you are good and act obediently, I can give you whatever you want, but if you try to backstab me, then you can forget about your puny lives."

The moment Kael finished speaking, a cold air grazed their necks, and drops of cold sweat slowly formed on their foreheads.

While the atmosphere around them was so intense, suddenly a beep beep sound came from a device carried by the young man.

Kael moved at lightning speed and appeared in front of the young man. "When did he?" The young man's eyes widened in shock.

Kael reached out his hand to take the device and asked the system to scan it and find out what the beep sound was for.

[Host, it was a communication device. You can click on the green button to take the call.]

"Oh." Kael moved his finger to accept the call, and a hoarse voice came out of the device.

"Code R. Did you finish the mission?"

Kael's lips curled up into a smile as he said, "Oh, sir, I forgot what the mission was about. Can you give me the details again?"

"Code R, are you messing with me? How can you forget the details of the mission you accepted? Wait... This voice... You're not Code R. Who are you? Why do you have his device?" A voice filled with anxiety came out of the device.

"Hehe, I thought you were all as useless as shit. I never thought you would recognize a voice from this device. Not bad... not bad. Now go and tell that old bastard there's no need to send anyone. I will be coming for his pathetic life," said Kael in a calm voice, but the calmness in his voice sent chills down the listener's spine.

Beep... beep... The call was disconnected.

"It... It was him, that variant," the young man murmured, his back drenched in cold sweat.

Meanwhile...

"Once again, being loyal earns you good rewards. Being an idiot will cost you your lives," said Kael with a stern gaze on his face. He continued with a gentle smile, "Now let's go. I will show you the base."

After a few minutes, all three of them reached the entrance of a building. Sareena appeared in front of them and asked, "Why did you bring them to the base? They are here with malicious intentions," with a worried look on her face.

"Don't worry. Now, do you still sense malicious intentions from either of them?" asked Kael while looking at her.

Sareena glanced at the siblings for a moment and shook her head in response to Kael's question.

But the siblings looked at Kael with weird expressions on their faces. "Why is he talking to himself? Does he have issues with his brain?"

The zombie leader couple opened the door, stepped out of the building, and bowed to Kael. The first reaction came from the siblings when they saw the zombie leaders taking out all their weapons and standing in fighting stances.

The male and female zombie leaders simply glared at the siblings and bowed back to Kael. Kael smiled awkwardly and said, "Relax, they don't mean any harm. They are my subordinates."

The siblings turned to look at Kael with shocked expressions when they heard his words. They realized the male and female zombie leaders were bowing to him.

They had never heard of a zombie leader submitting to a human. They were beyond speechless. "Can someone tell us what the hell is happening here?" These words slowly passed through the siblings' minds.

"Let's go," Kael nodded to the zombie leaders and moved into the building, followed by the siblings with blank looks on their faces. The zombie leaders stood straight, closed the door, and stood guard outside.

Kael introduced the siblings to Gita, Sita, and other young ladies and asked them to arrange rooms for the siblings. He then said goodbye and stepped out of the building.
