Chapter 3 - Urgent Meeting

On the drive to her condo, Allie was lost in her thoughts.

She had made sure she separated her personal life from her business with Redlip.

Redlip was the secret agency she worked for, and the identities of their agents were highly confidential. She also made sure never to use her real name in any of the jobs she took.

What does Redlip agents do? They offered a variety of services from being pretend girlfriends, relationship wreckers, to escorts. Allie was known as Miss Wrecker. She ruins relationships. But she had one rule to this job: never ruin a good relationship. So far, she had never broken that rule.

In Redlip, she was known as Scarlet, the top agent who wouldn't fail any job. Even the other agents didn't know much about her, let alone her private life.

So why did Evan Mori call her Miss Gray?

No, she didn't know him personally, so there was no way he recognized her.

Besides, Allison Gray and Scarlet were very different. Allison had a pair of green eyes behind glasses with jet black hair, while Scarlet had brown hair, brown eyes, and wore full makeup. Something was wrong.

Allie stepped into the elevator of her building, heading up to her penthouse. She called her assistant.

"Boss!" he greeted with enthusiasm.

"Every news on the internet is talking about Mr. Mori's ruined wedding! Of course, I made sure the reporters never got a good picture or video of you, so don't worry."

"Something's wrong," Allie's voice was firm.

"What do you mean—"

"Get me everything you can find about Evan Mori's recent activities, everything you can find about him."

Before Cole could ask what went wrong, Allie ended the call and entered her penthouse.

She washed up and put on her bathrobe. Just after her bath, her phone rang from the living room.

Allie immediately answered it when she saw it was Professor Kelly.

Allie led a double life. She worked for Redlip as Scarlet while also working for a software development company. It was a start-up founded by Professor Kelly, and Allie was the lead developer. The 49-year-old female professor had been her teacher in college.

"I hope you're not busy today, Allie."

"Is there a problem with the project, Professor?"

"No, dear. But my meeting with Lotus Tech is today, and they want to meet the lead developer to discuss the project."

Allie's brows furrowed. The meeting was about Lotus Tech's acquisition of Professor Kelly's company. Lotus Tech was the leading software company in Claymount, and Professor Kelly agreed to the acquisition to use Lotus Tech's resources, with Professor Kelly still in charge of operations and the staff remaining untouched.

"But when the meeting was scheduled, it was only you they wanted to speak with. Besides, you are the founder, and you know everything about the projects we are working on," Allie said.

Lotus Tech was a big company under a huge corporation. Professor Kelly had submitted reports beforehand, and Allie knew Lotus Tech was well aware of the projects they were working on.

"Professor Kelly, this meeting is the signing of papers since they have already decided to acquire the company. Another meeting should be set for the discussion of the project, so I don't understand the need for my presence there."

"The president wants you present. He wants to discuss the project right after the signing of papers," replied Professor Kelly.

Allie turned silent for a moment. Lotus Tech was under MGC, Mori Group of Companies, and its president was Evan Mori!

If he knew that she was Allison Gray, that meant he would definitely recognize her at the meeting!

Or was he already aware of that?

His voice rang in her head, and she remained still as stone.

"But let me tell you this, Miss Gray, I won't let you get away from this."

Evan Mori was a capable man. He finished masters in both Computer Science and Information Technology. He studied business while being a software engineer. He was smart.

Allie had a lot of questions in her head. There was only one way to find out.

Go meet him.

If he already knew her ties to Professor Kelly's company and that's why he was seeking her at the meeting, that meant she must really meet him. She didn't want Professor Kelly's company to be affected by this.

Besides, even if she met him and he did recognize her, there was no evidence to prove that she was the same person who ruined his wedding. Allison and Scarlet looked nothing alike, and there were no pictures or videos for comparison. Everything had been taken care of.

"Okay, I will be there."

Allie tossed her phone onto the sofa and went to her walk-in closet.

Let's see what's on his mind, she thought as she dressed up.

Wearing a plain black pencil skirt, a white button-down long-sleeved shirt, and black heels, Allison entered Lotus Tech's building.

Her straight jet-black hair flowed down her back, settling just an inch above her waist. Her face was almost bare, with just a touch of powder and tint.

A staff member from the front desk came to lead the way. As Allie entered the elevator, she pushed her silver-rimmed glasses up the bridge of her nose, the thick glasses slightly obscuring her green eyes.

Just as Allie stepped out of the elevator, her phone beeped. It was a message from Professor Kelly.

Professor Kelly: Something happened. I might be late. I've already called Mr. Mori's secretary, and he said it was okay. You go there first.

Allie sighed, her face remaining stoic. Soon, the staff member led her to a room with frosted glass doors. The meeting room was empty.

"President Mori will be here soon. Please have a seat," the staff member said politely before asking if there was anything she needed.

"No, thank you."

The staff member left, and Allie waited alone in the meeting room.

She scrolled through her phone and noticed that news about Evan Mori's wedding was all over the internet. And yet, here the heartless tycoon was, just in his company, only caring about business.

Seemed like he didn't really care about the girl, thought Allie.

Well, that was good news. If he didn't want the girl, he wouldn't likely pursue this matter religiously. Stock prices might get affected and MGC's reputation might get stained, but Allie knew that MGC had been among the top conglomerates in the country for decades.

She had seen them get involved in certain controversies throughout the years, but they remained on top. This wouldn't likely affect their business that much.

While pondering about it, the meeting room's door opened. She turned to look at Evan Mori entering the room in a three-piece suit.
