Evan stared at Allie with curious eyes and asked, "Is a loan shark after you? That must be why you are working for that shady agency and also why you are after my wealth." His tone carried amusement and mockery.
Allie kept a straight face. "Let's talk about it over dinner. I need to finish this."
"Hm," Evan hummed and stepped away, heading to the inner part of the room and disappearing into the walk-in closet.
Not long after, Evan stepped out from the walk-in closet. He was now in a plain white shirt and grey sweatpants. His hair was damp and disheveled, with the front ends touching his eyebrows. When he looked at the corner where Allie had been, she was no longer there.
