Chapter 1 - Prologue

- Should I get up?

He asked himself when he realized that he has been in bed half the day listening to music and without moving a single muscle, just to change the song he had on at the moment.

- Nah, the truth is that there's nothing to do anyway, maybe there's something on Netflix.

Since Apolo dropped out of high school he has been like this for the last 8 months, he never thought about what to do with his life and at this point he no longer has the motivation to see what entertains him.

- Apollo! - With a scolding tone his mother calls him - Instead of wasting time you help me with something and go buy some cookies for your brother? I know they ran out yesterday, and you know how he gets without them.

Having to accept without much desire for it, going from not being able to feel his legs to getting dizzy when making the quick movement, he managed to get up from his so precious bed. He went for her favorite high top red sneakers, once he put them on, he set off to the store.

As he walked through the streets he observed kids playing on a court, teenagers leaving high school on a Friday and couples in the park and a beautiful sunset and the ideal of the scene before him was displayed.

For God's sake.... I look so lonely around all these people!

As he said that to himself he was filled with nostalgia and a bit of envy at seeing so many people together seeming to be having a good time

Although the truth is, I should have taken more advantage of that time too....

Apollo as a young man was always a bit introverted, but he made an effort to fit in with people, he had a group of friends that he really appreciated with his soul, although when he left his teenage stage he realized that those friends practically forgot about him.

After buying the cookies and a few extra things his mother asked him to buy, he walked out of the store to find a familiar face.

- Pol? - It was Felipe calling him by a short nickname they used to call him, he was one of his old group of friends, in fact, the only one he can still consider a friend.

- It's been a long time haha, I haven't seen you for a long time and since you didn't answer my messages, I thought something had happened to you, I thought I would run into you since I started working here 4 months ago, but until now I see you, you don't go out much, do you?

His mother had told him that Felipe had started working in the store near the house to be able to pay for his studies in spite of being from a higher class, he says that he wants to be productive and become a little independent of his family, of course Apolo had forgotten all this and right now Felipe's night shift is starting.

- Hey, hi, yes I've been a little busy, I haven't had much time to do things haha - Of course by busy he means spending 12 hours watching the ceiling or marathoning the series or anime on duty - But it's good to see you after this time, how have the others been?

For his part, Apolo tried to look for jobs, study something and even practice some sport, but he felt that nothing was good for him or didn't keep his attention enough to dedicate himself to it.

- Well they all have done something with their lives, Manfred is in a basketball team at the U, he has a scholarship, Julian is abroad, Johnny is almost becoming a professional gamer, and I am here in this store to become independent haha, the good thing is that we are all doing pretty well, and we usually meet once a week.

So... everyone is focused on something...

At that moment he felt an emptiness all over his chest, hearing how all his former friends were doing something with their lives or progressing made him feel so small in comparison, to feel forgotten seeing how his same friend talks about how they all get together in such a carefree way while he stays in the confinement of his room at that time.

- I'm happy for you guys! - Outside what it may seem, these words are completely sincere, even though they were his friends only in the past, he has an appreciation for them for all they were to him and all they went through, he truly adores them, even if he can't show it to them now.

After a random chit chat with his friend, they had to go their separate ways again, as they both had something to do.

It seems I was the only one left behind? Or have I always been behind?

Filled with nostalgia, remembering his school life, how everyone already wished they wanted to be when they grew up, or in his high school life, how everyone already envisioned their career and what they would dedicate themselves to.

Instead, Apollo only thought about seeing what new assassin's creed will be released or what hair color Goku will have next time, he never wondered what he will do and that led him to this moment.

And if only it had been different... no, if only it was that simple in a world that was actually interesting! Where something I do really matters, where I'm given the chance to do things better!

In a childish outburst he just blame the world for not giving him something that really interested him, blaming him for his emotions and the loneliness he finds himself in.

- Then the time has come for you to fulfill an uncertain destiny - says a soft but unknown voice.

At that moment Apollo was taking a walk, but as he takes a step everything goes dark, so dark that he is unable to see his own hands, it is like having his eyes closed, he feels as if he is falling, the same sensation of taking a step on a staircase and going down a rung without knowing it, but this time there is no floor to touch. A shiver runs up and down her body and when he doesn't touch the ground a panic takes over his body, his heart is about to burst.
