Chapter 113 - The competitive spirit

Pov Dia,

Carerra: "Go kick his ass!"

Carerra was thrilled because today, I had brought her on a date as promised, and she decided to take me to a fighting arena in Asgard.

We watched the fighters clawing at each other, having fun critiquing their different stances and suggesting ways they could improve.

Carerra: "These Asgardians are still very weak."

Dia: "I think, for regular supernatural beings, they're still powerful; it's just that you're too strong to notice."

She was nearing the peak of the ultimate level, so it made sense that high-ranking fighters seemed weak to her.

Dia: "I bet you a loaf of bread that the challenger will win."

Carerra: "I hope you're ready to buy me some skewers because it's obvious the champion is much stronger than the challenger."

The fight wasn't one for people at our level, but we just wanted to win our bet, so we cheered louder than the entire stadium combined.

Carerra: "If you lose, I swear you'll be getting a punch from me."

Dia: "You're the challenger—show that someone who shouldn't normally win can. Give hope to those watching you."

It should be noted that it was just a skewer at stake, but also the pride of having predicted the winner correctly.

It seemed our encouragement gave the fighter some adrenaline because he kept fighting even when he could barely move.

In the end, the match ended in a draw.

Another fight began, and our spirits were so fired up that we continued to shout and cheer them on.

Carerra: "Watch out; he's trying to trick you!"

Dia: "Go for it! Attack from his blind spot!"

Carerra: "You're a loser; how can you come before us with such weakness?"

Dia: "Even a newborn is more intimidating than you—fight better!"

As soon as one of us won, we'd get a skewer from the other and start betting again.

Carerra: "Stop running and fight if you're a man!"

Dia: "No wonder you don't have a woman—no one wants to be with such a loser!"

The private room I had reserved was becoming charged with tension.

In the end, we entered the ring to challenge each other, ignoring the referee who told us to leave, and we started fighting.

As time went on, I became wilder—there was no technique left, only punches aimed at the head or the stomach.

I seemed like I would dominate, but Carerra is a better hand-to-hand fighter than me, so my power level was balanced by her skill.

We were so caught up in the fight that we ended up brawling in the stands, then through the nearby streets, until we finally found ourselves lost in one of the 9 realms.

Dia: "I suggest we try a different kind of challenge."

Carerra: "Agreed, especially if it'll keep us from passing out in a strange place."

Dia: "Did you already drink the potion?"

Carerra: "The futa potion?"

Dia: "Yes. Each of us will take turns using the potion's power for one round, and then switch. The winner will be the one who doesn't faint from exhaustion."

Carerra: "You may have some experience in this area, but know that I will win in the end."

Dia: "You're too confident. I'll prove to you that experience trumps the moment."

And with that, we teleported back to my room.
